You know what's great about this scene? The fact that Marie didn't have her fingers deep in it at the start. It was natural beautiful start to a great relationship between Robert and Amy.

She looks so TINY next to him it's hilarious all by itself- those three couples were golden on the show. Marie and Frank were very grumpy and always bickering, Robert and Amy were the exact opposite and always tried to be as positive as usual to each other, and Ray and Debra were in between. One of the best shows ever.

Brad Garrett is an amazing actor he plays this scene with almost zero emotion lol

Originally, I didn't come into the show until about Season 3, so when I saw the Amy/Robert relationship develop the way it did, I was like "Damn! How did they meet?!?!". I was happy to finally go back and see this episode.

I used to love this show. Channel 4 repeated it in the early hours and I watched it over breakfast before work. I must've seen all of them.

I STILL love watching this show, even after iut's been on the air so long... It just hits the nail on the head so PERFECTLY, and all the characters--Ray and Debra, Robert and Amy, DEFINITELY Frank and Marie, and then all the secondary characters like Ray's writing pals, Gianni, Frank's lodge friends, Robert's partner and ex-girlfriend from Italy Stephana--are just so believable and hilarious! ELR is the "I Love Lucy" of our time should have the same fate--to be in reruns forever and never die!

In a much later episode Amy would be eating cooking dough like that when she’s mad at Ray on Fondue Date Night.

I was so happy they ended up together. He was dating so many girls and telling them it was meant to be when he finally realize the meant to be was Amy all along. I love that scene when he is at the club and he pours a drink on a woman not seen and then she shows herself and everyone applauds cuz it was Amy he did that. I still love that scene.

I love this! Amy is SO sweet and so good for Robert-they are perfectly suited! And the in-laws etc.-it all worked. I'm surprised this was so early-Season one episode 14. It's so funny too when Marie does something awful and you see the shocked expression on Amy's face-although Marie was generally nicer to Amy than Debra.

I think the best ending of the show would’ve been Robert and Amy announcing they were pregnant.

Intelligent Comedy... a comedy that passes muster with a live audience.

TV and movies were great in the 90s. People lived in normal houses, not in perfect magazine homes lol. Everything was just a lot more real
