"The last great sitcom" aint that the truth!!!! My grandparents used to come over every week to watch this show with us. Its truly the greatest sitcom ever and I'll never stop watching it and laughing every episode

My same thought! I feel like "it's all been done", but hope springs eternal! I know so many people knock the laugh-track and yes, it can get absurd on some shows, but I always enjoyed it, especially when live.

It's certainly a top ten sitcom of all time. What dou you think of this list? 1. All in the Family 2. Sanford and Son 3. Everybody Loves Raymond 4. Seinfeld 5. Martin 6. Married with Children 7. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 8. Frasier 9. Home Improvement 10. Friends I think this is an elite list, but what do you think?

I love the one with the fire in the kitchen and the garden hose. The audience reaction was something ive never seen or heard and you just cant duplicate something like that❤

ELR has gotten better, and more funnier with age since the show ended in 2005. It's just too bad that they don't make good comedy shows like this on TV anymore.

I believe one of the funniest episodes is the one with the frog lady. Lol. I get a good laugh every single time I watch it.

Kind of surprising they thought the show had "no sex appeal", with Ray, Brad Garrett & Patricia Heaton right there every week. Wtf, these are attractive people!

I was in college and I mainly watched sports and sitcoms at night after finishing work then honework and this show used to come one little later but it was worth it.

Never understood why people were so hard on Romano, even himself. They say they never heard of him, he's not handsome, he's not an actor, he's not funny, no one would kiss him etc. Patricia once said in an interview when she saw him she thought, "What is that?" I remember watching Romano many times as a comedian. Brad was also a stand-up. I can't believe he never heard of him. I also can't believe no one would kiss him when the scene calls for it. I think he's funny, handsome, a great actor, etc. I know all the ribbing is supposedly in good fun but it's a bit over-the-top. I believe they think there's some truth to it.

Sadly I cannot find Archie on tv anymore so I bought all the seasons. However I am just as bad with RAymond. Love these sitcoms. Don’t make them like that anymore. Always and forever with me. Eighties girl from East Tennessee. Huge shout 👍👍👍💕💕

I'm in the UK and I was never aware of the existence of ELR while it was running. It was all about Friends in our house, because I am to the day the exact same age as Jennifer Aniston, and it remained so for about 10 years after Friends finished. But Channel 4 on UK TV started running ELR (along with Cheers, 3rd Rock and Frasier) every weekday morning and it just got me during the pandemic so now it has totally replaced Friends as my goto happy place. Am I growing up or just getting old?

Same for me really. I'll add "How I met your mother" before going on a real tangent from this ELR discussion: I bought the new Frasier on Prime. I'll say up front: can't wait for the next new season. I got reeled in last quarter of the first episode and loved it all. It just lacks too many of the existing cast, never going to get dad back obviously but it's still great.

@@niv8880 I'm really enjoying the Frasier reboot and love how they've replaced the blue collar dad with the blue collar son. UK viewers have the added novelty of seeing Nicholas Lyndhurst, a stalwart of UK sitcom "Only Fools & Horses" inhabit a persona that could be any further apart from "Rodney" if they'd marooned him on Mars.

2024 and watching the reruns (again) on Prime. RIP: Peter Boyle (Frank Barone): Peter Boyle, who played Ray's grumpy but lovable father Frank, died on November 12, 2006, at the age of 71. His death was due to multiple myeloma and heart disease Doris Roberts (Marie Barone): Doris Roberts, who portrayed Ray's overbearing mother Marie, passed away on April 17, 2016, at the age of 90. She died from a stroke Sawyer Sweeten (Geoffrey Barone): Sawyer Sweeten, one of the twins who played Ray's son Geoffrey, tragically died by suicide on April 23, 2015, at the young age of 19 Georgia Engel (Pat MacDougall): Georgia Engel, who played Amy's sweet-natured mother Pat, passed away on April 12, 2019, at the age of 70 Albert Romano (Albert): Albert Romano, Ray Romano's real-life father who appeared in four episodes as Frank's friend Albert, died on March 11, 2010, at the age of 84 Max Rosenthal: Max Rosenthal, the father of series co-creator Phil Rosenthal, who appeared as Max (another friend of Frank's), died on June 26, 2021, at the age of 95 Thanks for letting us into your homes.

It doesn’t seem very smart to put a show Les liked into a bad time slot. Wouldn’t logic say put it after a popular show? No wonder CBS was tanking.

Wow- same! Worse, I ignored it when it was originally aired because of that, and only started watching it in about 2017! I could have been enjoying it all that time... 🙄 Lesson learned not to judge a book by its cover I guess, right?!
