From playing Ballz, I can say with full confidence that Yoko breaks the game. You just jump on their head and deal unavoidable damage (which is the only way to beat the bosses in the single player) and there’s even a glitch where you can make the opponent headless. Edit: there’s a few other cheese strategies, but overall, grabs and jumps just guarantee wins.

So with Nes games, there can only be 4 sprites on 1 horizontal line at a time or else flickering occurs. These character sprites aren't actually one sprite, but a grid of sprites for each character. So if one character is 2 sprites wide and one is three, there's going to be flickering, but peach for instance is thin so they doesn't flicker when there's 2 of them standing next to each other

Fun facts about Kart Fighter: Two of Luigi's combos in this game (flying kick and uppercut) don't have any defined button inputs, meaning only the AI can do them Bowser's sprite literally cannot be any larger, because of some annoying sprite limits (OAM only has room for 64 sprites) and they didn't bother using the 8x16 sprite mode The high-score screen does work, but it's very difficult to even get 8th place, especially since you _lose_ 2550 points if you win without taking damage instead of gaining 2550

I think the health running out at 18:25 is a hidden time mechanic, after enough time has passed the health just starts dropping so that the player with higher health wins. Edit: The time isn't hidden, it just appears on the screens in the background so it was difficult to see.
