Day traders do NOT have to buy at the absolute bottom and sell at the absolute top. They can buy ANYWHERE along the upwards movement, as long as they sell at a higher price than they bought at. And they can also short a stock and short at any point above they buy at.

You don’t invest in them.. you trade the hype and get out. Or short the most obvious offerings. They all crash we know that. Just because you know that you have an huge advantage. You short the pump and bank👍🏼

This video is for the person who says, 'Oh my, penny stocks seem affordable.. I think i will buy some as they're so cheap' all along knowing nothing about what's really going on. Mention 'fundamental analysis, doing some due-diligence, looking at some SEC info, researching who these people are' and their eyes will glaze over. 'You don't get it, I just want to buy some stocks that are cheap.... Oh look!' they add, 'This one went up 1000% in one day, I think I will buy some shares now'. Savvy player in this space can earn big money plying against those who bought in on the hype and rise.

Just want to say you have it all wrong, lol. I trade only penny stocks (90% of the time) and do well. Who cares about a $6 or $12 round trip commission when you'er making $400-$2,000 a trade give or take. Sure we are in a higher tax percentage but we are sending money to our personal account weekly then reinvesting the left over. Yes most traders loose because they don't learn the trade and download an app like robinhood or they jump on a platform and after a few days they are ready to dive in. I'm grateful for all of those people!

Yeah dude, that's why you have to get up, shower, and commute round trip to work after spending 8 hours earning a paycheck. Because you don't know how to TRADE (not invest) for a living and much easier lifestyle. There are many people that trade penny stocks for a living, without having to pump. Those who can trade, trade. Those that can't trade write about trading! So why would anyone take you seriously when your just a journalist??

I made a ton of money trading penny stocks.. when I was in high school and our Econ teacher gave us fake money to simulate being in the market, lol. Needless to say he got pissed that I didn’t listen to his (good) advice. Fortunately when I got serious about investing real $ I came to the realization that consistently investing in quality companies (with dividends) over the long term leads to wealth. I really love the Motley Fool but it's disappointing to see that you would release such an "outdated"/irrelevant video. Yes, Penny stock trading is a losing strategy for the average investor but this video needs to be updated with more current info.

Brokerage order fees are now zero (but exchange fees remain), but the “spread” remains, and the brokerages will keep your money on each trade by a means you cannot see. qz.com/1719659/charles-schwabs-zero-fee-commissions-still-have-costs/

"Commissions" are zero, true; but, then how do brokers make money? Hmmm, they play the spread. In the old days of commissions, the spread collected was usually zero - they bought and sold for you at the exact quote at the time of sale. Now, they take a little off the top of every transaction. THAT is a topic all Fools need to talk about. Nothing is free and Fools know it.

No. Its usually some anonymous fool on instagram who hypes it up for months. And some times that person might be friends with a person who knows another person whos friend is a major shareholder of the company. This is HIGHLY ILLEGAL if its found out. But you can also tell how damn hard that is to prove because its not illegal to sell your shares in a company with profit. And you dont have to tell anyone why you sold your shares. Honestly I wouldnt even sell all the shares, just because of how suspicious it would look. But imagen you have 1 000 000 shares in a pennystock that goes from 0.6$ to 5$. Your shares would go from 600 000 dollars in worth to 5 million in maybe just a few days. And most shareholders hold more then that amount of shares. Keep in mind that AMD was a pennystock in 2015. Now it has rushed up 3700% to 81 dollars or something. That would have made anyone who kept investing 100 bucks each month in AMD since 2010 a multi-millionaire today.

@thecolonel4551
@thecolonel4551 3 жыл бұрын
You pay, its just not called a "commission" and is hard to see, you are being "played" by the "play the spread" game. Think like money exchangers, keep exchanging and you eventually have nothing. Now, once you realize you are paying per trade (Fools know nothing is free) - you can make an honest assessment of your expenses. At least Commissions were up-front and easily deducted. Now? BTW, I do agree talking about commissions is getting antiquated, but Fools need to discuss fees, sometimes they are quite high and always difficult to calculate.

Investing Education If you watch the stock fall for months or years before being priced right and making money then it’s profitable. If you can day/swing trade successfully you will see returns straight away, but you can’t invest with large sums of money otherwise you will become less nimble which significantly hurts your returns. Personally I use a mix of both strategies, I have stocks that I intend to hold for the long term and I also do my fair share of day/swing trading but only with the most established companies on the market. I’ve only just started trading a few months ago but so far trading has proved to be the most profitable and on average I make more money in a day of day trading (including transaction costs) than I do in a day of work.

I like what you said Investing education, if you have something working for you then no harm trying. I agree if long term trading works for you keep doing it, if day trading works for you then keep doing it. But just for fun i looked a stock that has gone up a little over 100% over a 10year period. So over 10 years if you invested 25,000 dollars in this stock you would have profited a little more then 25,000 dollars over those 10 years. Now i took that same thought for day trading. If you took that same 25,000 dollars and made even just $100 dollars a day in the market day trading then in just one year you would make 25,000 dollars. And over the same 10 years you would make 250,000. For me i want to put more effort into improving my day trading over my long term trading. Over a 10 year period at just 100 dollars a day you could make way more. But at the end of the day its like you said if you have something that works for you then keep trying that.
