The Africa Campaign wasn't going too well, Italy was barely holding, there really wasn't a push to take Suez and it all looked gloomy.
Everyone completely gave up, BUT THEN GERMANY CAME AND SOLO CARRIED 1V9!
This might be the greatest Africa push I have seen in HOI4 MP!
Or maybe even the greatest Africa comeback in Hearts of Iron 4 Multiplayer!

Regarding the bug at the Crimean crossing; I've noticed HoI4 likes to draw an invisible frontline there at times. It could be that the game was assigning divisions to such a frontline.

Tbf there’s one thing I don’t really understand abt hoi4 is that irl Japan still wrecked the Allies despite being stuck in China while in hoi4 it is a must for Japan to finish China as a “normal”/saved game. Irl Japan at most conquered arguably half of China after Ichigo in 1944 but they still conquered a lot from the allies. Shouldn’t the mods or the base game be coded to allow Japan to have a decent industry in the home island & Manchuria, making Japan able to sustain both fronts on its own + making China survive at least closer to the historical result probably capping at 1944 or during the late war?

The problem is that their initial success in the war wasn't based on industrial strength, except maybe compared to China. They were successful because they had high military readiness long before the allies had considered remilitarizing, had an initial technological advantage (in terms of torpedos and naval planes specifically), and because they relied on ambushes and surprise attacks. Almost all of those are things that other players would be prepared to fight against, and just adding more industry would I think be worse than the current situation.

@@Lersiontrue plus the way of doctrine and mostly as far as I know and see it more incompetence on the allied side. Those factors are very difficult to simulate in Hoi. You could put in focuses and debuffs but that's rly difficult and hard to balance. For single player and with some mods it kinda works but in multi-player it is very difficult. If it's too historical it's no fun and if it's to free it breaks immersion. And all the different ideas and perspectives of what would be accurate and fun...

For gameplay quality reasons this seems like a bad idea. First of all; microing against AI whilst fighting players is not fun and doesn't serve a purpose. Secondly; currently the India battle is very fun and dynamic. It adds a lot of urgence and relevance to the Asia front aswell for gameplay purposes. Overall besides historici accuracy I don't see any reason to change it.

There's a bit of a dilemma with trying to make that work You can buff Japan so that taking China isn't that important, but then Japan can roll over China and be super OP. You could make China less rewarding to Japan, but that could incetivise Japan to not bother taking China since it's not worth the cost of equipment. You can buff China so that Japan can never break them, but without China Japan will have no way of getting resources to actually play the game. Yes, that is realistic but it doesn't make for a good competitive experience where Japan is largely incapable of doing what it's supposed to do and will get stomped. Not to mention how thinly stretched Japan already is across the pacific. Imagine if Japan had to deal with China AND the allies at the same time. Part of the reasons Japan lost was due to being stretched so thin across mainland Asia and the Pacific. Now imagine if Japan has to micro manage navy, air, industry, research, island hopping, China, India, Malaysia, Philippines and the Indies all at the same time. I know I would be very stressed and probably not be having alot of fun You want Japan to at least have a semi decent chance of winning. Game balancing is bloody tough, but the easiest solution is to keep things as is. The system/formula for competitive MP games works fine as is and changing without breaking game balance is very difficult.

Like was said, it's because the allies weren't prepared and militarized. In Hoi4 you expect Japan to be taking those islands, so if you put even a bit of effort into a tiny defense it would essentially make it impossible for Japan to deal with it whilst also taking on China. I mean you even see these RP games when Tommy plays Japan where the USA player or whoever already has it out for Tommy from day 1 and Japan can't do anything because they get focused.

eh, some mods give china some really good buffs to stall japan and some japans yes have lesser skill so they struggle more, but honestly everyone has to play a nation to actually learn how to play them, and maybe if the community was more encouraging we would have more good players, idk sorry for the rant but hoi4 community are assholes sometimes man, dont be that guy

@@pumpkingamer9 of course its a skill issue, but like in the video tommy even says "go tell him to put divisions there don't just sit and laugh" and i doubt anyone would have done anything if tommy didn't say something. The hoi4 "community" isn't really helpful at all, like in my 1600 hours in the game i have yet to meet a community of people that aren't "based" and "red-pilled"

I stop play mp games cuz when i play minor 95% of games UK or Germany just ask you to rush a specific tech and wont even give factories back when trading . Same with banning units like paratroopers or bombers ;/

Honestly paratroopers are underrated. They just need to be treated more like tactical units and balanced properly, meaning they should still be powerful, but limited per faction or too specific nations to avoid problems. They're just so good for tactical encirclments and taking supply hubs.
