Immediately after watching this video, I laid down and snuggled with both of my dogs. To truly feel an animal’s love is one the best experiences in this life.

This is enough to bring grown man like me cry 😭

I don't think Kwibi wanted to say goodbye at all. This was so heartbreaking.

*The poignant scene where Kwibi trailed the boat, patiently waiting through the night to reunite with Damien, is heart-wrenching. The fear of losing Damien again is palpable, and I never expected to be so emotionally moved by this, but here I am, shedding tears uncontrollably 😭*

Who wouldn't want to have a friend like that, what a world this would be if humans could interact with each other like that

Interspecies connections are at times, incredibly strong bonds. So glad they were able to reunite and to ensure that their bond still existed. A wonderful day for both of them to connect once again.

imagine seeing your dad for the first time in 5 years and introducing him to your wives only for him to try to leave again after a few hours... i wouldnt have had it in me to leave at all. like, alright, fuck it; i guess im a gorilla now

Whats not in this video is that the man introduced his own wife aswell and kwibi was inmediatly nice and kind to her also hugging her and putting her cap on his head you should look up the full encounter it is really amazing ... how two beings that are still quite different can communicate so clearly is amazing they actually introduced each others family its just touching beyond belief

I bet when the Gorilla heard his voice it brought back his child hood like so many young boys love their Fathers an Grand Fathers! It’s Nice to see The Gorilla has a good life thriving with his new family! ❤

This had me crying. If we could all love animals this much and see what we have in common rather than what separates us, this world would be a better place. God bless Kwibi and all his family, including Damien.

Humans are truly the stewards of the world. We have the power to communicate with all animals if we try hard enough. The bonds we make with them are unbreakable. Much love to this man and this gorilla for showing the world their beautiful story!

I’m not surprised that Kwibi recognized the man who raised him; there have been innumerable, interactive studies done to show that great apes have a memory capacity which dwarfs that of humans, many times over. What did surprise me was how deeply connected he felt to the man who raised him & not only that he followed the boat all the way back to the lodge where the man was staying, but also that he had waited all thru the night to be able to see him again! Ultimately, the only way to construe what we saw is to acknowledge/admit that he (Kwibi) must still love him, deeply - which I find incredibly moving & extraordinarily beautiful! Clearly, humans aren’t the only animals capable of love, or any other complex emotion(s) & we should definitely stop thinking of ourselves that way … we all came from the same primordial soup!

I wept so hard watching this, so very beautiful and heartwarming. Incredible ❤❤❤❤❤

This just shows how intelligent animals can be. If I trained a gorilla when he or she was a baby I would thrilled to see it 5 years later.

And then Kwibi showed up at the airport, bags packed, like “So where are we going?”

This made me cry, it just shows no matter how long has passed you never forget your friends.

Hugging is a sign of possession among gorillas. By hugging Damien, Kwibi claimed him as a son, and this act prevented other gorillas from attacking him. Many species of primate use hugging as a deterrent for violence. For instance, if two chimps are fighting one male may scoop up a baby to initiate a cease fire. Kwibi was likely protecting Damien. Its also incredible that they were able to lock eyes. Gorillas are peaceful by nature but you should never look them in the eyes, it's provocative. This was a lovely story.

Thank you Damiean for saving Kwidi from a baby and now he is in his natural habitat🥰. You are a human father to him👌💯, I can't stop crying how beautiful he was😭. You know it is so beautiful and to know that there are humans who do not love their children like me, a mother who abandoned me since I was born and now I am a woman, I got divorced, I had 2 children here in Costa Rica and I never abandoned my children, they are already exceptional students. Now my mother is looking for me because she is old and I took care of her for 10 years, but I didn't know that I had lost my memory of her since I was little, she broke my skull and I was in a coma. I ride a motorcycle and I hit my head, I had a concussion, I remembered everything that happened before, child abuse and more... what a bad mother, I tried to get over it but I couldn't, how bad she was to me. And I told her to leave my house, I can't have my mother around, because I already know everything and it hurts for her that something should happen to her, but it makes me very bad to remember what she was doing against my little life, I only ask her forgiveness. God but I can't live with her 😭😭😭😭

This is the most beautiful story. I had tear in my eyes. Animal's know if a person is good or not and they both loved each other so much, you could see it in their eyes. I don't think animals forget who took care of them and they show so much love. Beautiful.
