Portugal has different types of Digital Nomad Visa: short-term or long-term.
Before the Digital Nomad Visa for Portugal, digital nomads applied for the D7 or Passive Income Visa. The requirements for the Nomad Permit are similar, but the purpose of this new immigration option is to separate the migration purposes of Retirement and Remote Working.

For applying as a freelancer: A society contract, a service provision contract, and a document showing services provided to one or more entities.
