Good test For ifs system weaknessesd , again the cvs ! I reckon the shafts gotra be made at least 3" thick to not shear .They just gotta be made tougher !!

thats what i love the most about the sport of 4wding, the rivalry between nissan and toyota is as old as the day they both hit the tracks but despite the smack talk we give eachother, we are always there for eachother. toyota or nissan, suzuki or ford, jeeps, mazda's, whatever, we all 4wd for the same reason and the community is great

its not big..f250/350/ram/duramax,,is big..no 4x4 should have ifs garbage..even chevs break all the time..r/h side..cv,s are crap as well..in the u.s. they have rcv. twice as strong, better turning..

Gotta say, I’m glad CVs are the fuse in the drive lines now. So much easier to deal with than a blown diff or internal axle shaft. If you watched ruben before hes alway full send on the power!

Yes i been there but those SUVS are not for heavy off road, you need to reinforce to much the cv and drivelines, better land cruiser 79 or hilux

@@binnie465 Right then oh so wrong. GU or GQ driveline stronger, more HD parts options make upgrades cheaper & coils all round craps all over any 70 or lux in any handling situation. If you can't handle a patrol, at least do it to an 80 or 105

@@AussieDazza I know your angle mate! yea hang some poos on Toyota coz U drive a Nissan , as a Toyota owner I agree, Toyota makes their drive lines way stronger than necessary to handle whatever engine is in front of it. Not to mention alot of 600+kw Rotary's in old madza rx bodies run Hilux diffs that were meant for 80hp .I love Reubens rig, but not as a hardcore offroader. It's a super tough super tourer with race car HP and the ability to get off the beaten track. Just not what he's asking of it

The Dmax isn’t modified well beyond what the engineers designed it for either. I should be reliable.

Dmax is the one with the sensible amount of power. Plus Graham usually drives with a lot of mechanical sympathy. An amazing tourer and tow car but the Y62 has way too much power for rocky tracks now. 260kw with 37s is probably well over 300kw on its standard diameter tyres and a million torques. A wheel lift on power and the drop back down, CVs stand no chance.

Reuben does well to test the prowess of the new vehicles.After the 200 series ifs system failures , its evident that the y62 suffers same issues .But theres room for beefing up those IFS to equal the solid axles in their capabilities.
