We had to take a trailer to the junkyard and the last couple turns that kingpin plate which was rusted out like that started to pull away from the trailer. Yeah. It was filled with old steel machinery and racks with the intention of scraping the whole thing. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Happy Father's Day Steve. I had a good time yesterday. Had a father's day dinner at church. And then went home and then i went to see my oldest daughter at her work. Since she had to work 2 shift's due to a employee not coming in. And that employee was fired. And they will not be getting there paycheck. She was happy watching me do a burnout in the drivthru. She was like why is (Employee) Dumping water in the drive thru. She then realized why when she heard somebody doing a burnout. Hope u had a good one. And that suck's when u run out of power steering fluid. Jessie had that happened to her month's ago. And lucky she was driving a cargo truck. And i had the shop kid go help her.

Steve maybe you could contact utility trailers with the vin number of your trailer and they might be able to tell you who was the original owner or if it's been a chapel trailer all it's life.

Its almost slightly criminal how thin the aluminum was for that door frame. If I had to guess it looks like it got a stress fracture from flexing around. Chapel trailer you almost expect some of the rust and rot, but that was a little surprise. It is sad as to what can pass off as acceptable when you don't have the consumer protection laws like passenger vehicles have. I watch a lot of Steve Lehto of Lehto's Law and some of the horror stories of RV's, Commercial Trucks/equipment is pretty eye opening.

Happy Father’s Day guys!! I’ve replaced toooons of fith wheel king pins, mainly in dry vans but if I were you I would buy a completely new king pin to weld in and a new peice of 3/8 steel plate and get rid of that rust jacked one, it’s a pain in the ass to do again but I also worked for SAF HOLLAND as a welder for a while, they make a plastic checker to tell you if your king pin is okay or if it needs to be replaced. Just my two cents but cheers !

You could put me in a lot full of newer trucks and new plastic trucks and Orwell would be somewhere in that same lot, I would pick Orwell every single time. I had a 2017 Pete dump truck I drove for a company with a Paccar diesel and it was hot garbage. One morning I started the truck and went out to do my pre trip and by the time I got back in the cab I had several messages from the truck on the dash saying to shut the motor down or there would be catastrophic damage. The old diesel engines will always be better than the new junk. Chris is an awesome old school mechanic. Happy fathers day to everyone. 😊

With the type of equipment you have, there's always something which comes up and I'm betting your trailer you got from the trailer company was cheaped out like all new things are now because companies who cheap out negate the reality of going down the road and gravity. BTW, congrats on your son Mattew getting a new house. I hope he gets to enjoy it as much as he can and also Happy Father's Day to you, Steve.

I've been thinking on the rebranding of the trailer. Maybe have a picture of the truck as it sat in Washington (with dates of service) in a section of the trailer front or back. Have it repainted with the same stripes for authenticity. Then where the chapel lettering is now, a big FSC logo with the other KZfaqrs logos underneath.

I used to work for a millwork company hauling stuff for them they had a couple trailers that had the exact same door problem and the options were either replace the entire door because we couldn’t get just the inside frame only or put an outside latch on it they ended up just putting an outside latch on it due to what a complete door would’ve cost having a Steel striker mechanism with an aluminum frame is a recipe for disaster because eventually the aluminum frame will break

1 happy Father’s Day - 2. You always deliver load - pickup load - you never put money back into your truck until it breaks down. These are old videos- the last one was you finally put new rims on the Cabover. 😮. You need a new driver seat . You need to fix the driver side door. You don’t. Orwell is an older truck. Again you don’t put money back into this truck

Old truck ,be like a certain gender ,high maintenance and gets worse with age . Finding a balance with something with age but with peovwn reliability,not too much tech ,but not a geriatric !
