Since potions have colors, can be named, and everything can be stacked to 99...you could make 99 potions of strength renamed to "Bottle of Beer". I don't know if you can make an item frame accept a stack...but, if all of this works, you could have an item frame on your wall with a stack of 99 "Bottle of Beer".

They made one of my favorite cursed Minecraft jokes a reality now. All of those videos where it plays the soft music and closes off with the player munching on something like an axe is real now.

On one hand, this is incredible for mapmaking and possibly general gameplay! You have way more options when making maps (custom food, tools, etc). I’d even bet this is a sign of things to come, like increasing stack size by default so inventory management is a little easier. On the other hand, now all those peenixsc videos of Steve eating anything he wants will become reality

I remember creating my first Minecraft Forge mod. There was a food class that contained the same properties as this in-game modifier. So they're just basically allowing you to mix item Java classes with commands.

The entire crafting system seems designed with multiples of 4 in mind, wouldn't an increase to 120, or just 128 be better? There are so many recipes that will leave you with 1 leftover item to clutter your inventory even further.

This is one of the most random things Mojang added

I have a friend who has been tinkering on a datapack/resource pack for our group for a while. It adds serviceable Tinker's Construct Hammers/Excavators/Broadaxes into the game, along with lots of food recipes, and tons of quality of life improvements (usually through the stonecutter). I actually think he went overboard, but I was overruled by the rest of the group (And there's a chance he may watch this video. If so, hey bud. "Scratchy Scratchy in the sand", eh?). It's pretty cool what he's managed to make. Of course every new update that tweaks the coding jargons also means he has to completely redo his coding as well.. by hand... for thousands of items. He's actually pretty sure this new update has completely killed his datapack in it's entirety. Something about how this overhaul is completely different to how the coding was done and instead of "a few tweaks needing to be done on everything" it basically now "scraps every aspect of every part of every line of code and now he'd have to start from scratch". And that's left him pretty disheartened. What's worse, it might also mean that we might have to remake our world from scratch as well because of our use of the Datapack adding things that weren't there before, and with the new update, that might just corrupt things in the world, one we've had for a prolonged period of time... several years, at least since the beginning of Caves and Cliffs, maybe earlier. And while I'm more for a vanilla experience personally and would rather have our "vanilla" space be strictly vanilla (and leave modded content for elsewhere), I do hope he can get it up and running again. Even I have to admit it was nice to see the Tinker's Construct hammers again. They made mining passages a breeze, even if they were a bit finnicky to use. Having no skill in coding myself, all I can do is cheer him on and tell him to start off small, maybe try bringing back the tinker tools, and that might be a good springboard for getting back into making the rest of the datapack again. ... oh and I don't think he posted it anywhere, I think it was strictly private use. I won't mention the name, in case he wants to keep things to himself, but if he does happen to see this, I'll let him mention the name himself.

Finally, we have regressed back to Minecraft: Alpha Where we used to have the ability to have stacks of items up to 99.

stack size is probably limited to 99 because mojang wants to only display 2 numbers so it fits in the corner and they didnt want the logic of converting the display to shortening the number, like for example 9000 would become 9k and it would still work because it would still only display 2 characters.

Eating items to clear inventory space feels like an addition that could've been in OG Minecraft that people would've just accepted by now

Back when I used to play pocket edition, I was playing in a survival game with a few of my friends from school. But we had just finished mining and I jumped twice when trying to get out of the cave which caused me to fly. My friends thought I was in creative but I sent screenshots to the TV proving that I had a health and hunger bar. Eventually I stopped flying but from that day on, I was on a quest to get myself a PC.

Whenever people complain about updates not adding enough to the game, I think what they don't realize is that more is being added than what they might experience in vanilla survival. Over the past few updates, they've added features like this for people who create content (maps, servers, datapacks, etc) to use in their own cool projects. This is one of those cool features that opens potential for so many possibilities, if you really can change the functionality of an item to behave in basically any way you want. Huge Mojang W.

When I was in school, I played this Minecraft quest master game with my friends where you got things for getting things. (ie. if the quest master says to get an apple, you go the the pipe thing (the forest) and give it to the quest master.) We used the things in the playground as Minecraft objects and you got a Superstick™ (Literally all netherite tools + shears + fising rod etc.) and we even had all three dimensions as well.

When you ate the birch log, an error sound played on my pc because of another program but it was timed perfectly...

Honestly, I think allowing items to be stacked to 99 (or another high number) would help a lot with inventory management.

99 pieces of each armor item used to be possible with Too Many Items back in beta 1.7.3 and it also made you invincible so I'm happy to see this madness again
