The cookie that you ate in starbucks called "İzmir Bombası" literally translated as a İzmir bomb and it is filled chocolate cream. It is delicious normally we buy it from bakeries in Turkey because they better you should try from a bakery you will love it much more. I'm happy you came to Turkey. The first food is probably one of the best food in Turkey! I adore our Turkish manti! And the creamy dough you ate at Starbucks is called Izmir Bombasi which is literally Izmir bomb in English. Also the ice cream men always mess with the buyers, it’s a tradition.

If you haven’t yet you should try “Döner”. It’s literally meat slices that were sliced from a spinning “log” of meat. It’s usually served with yogurt and some spices. You should also definetely eat it with “Pide” (a type of bread) since it will be served with it too. Oh also you can get “Chicken(Tavuk) Döner” which is similar to a Chicken Burrito but I think the Chicken Döner tastes better.

That's a common thing with ice cream vendors, they mess with you and hand you a real ice-cream and then you look and it's just a cone and they do it like 20 different ways. They would make amazing Pick pockets!

In Afghanistan, we have something REALLY similar to this. It’s normal-sized dumplings that has beef and some other things in it and when it’s finished, we add this yogurt called moss (NOT THE GREEN MOSS) and some sauce. It’s called Mantu

Welcome to Turkey Karissa! The food that you eat in Starbucks called "İzmir bomb" if i didn't see it wrong. We really love Mantı in here (Great eating choices girl!) If you're planning to stay for more, you should try Turkish coffee (p.s. it's kinda bitter) Lahmacun, İçli köfte, Yaprak Sarması and for the dessert i'm suggesting you Baklava or Kazandibi :)
