Carrot tops make a great pesto (which is easy to freeze in ice cube trays) if you want to use even more of your harvest! 🎉

What would you say is the difference in texture when you reheat food after it's dehydrated versus being freeze dried? I know you've spoken about the nutrient preservation, but if you could talk about this, it would be helpful.

I wonder why you don't use the greens of the carrots as well. the are edible and have tons of vitamins especially if you freeze dry for soup you could just use these as well

So buy one, save up money and buy one. Instead of spending money on junk food or unnecessary things like all the ads we see on our screens, save up. It’ll be worth it in the end. And that goes for anything worth your time money and energy

I don't have an empty freezer, but I just toss the sheet pan on top of everything else and hope it doesn't fall out when I open the freezer 😂

Do the carrots and green beans stay crispy after freezing? When I freeze green beans they become rubbery and chewy which my kids don’t like .

Hi. Thanks to prior scalding in hot water, the decomposition process of the harvested vegetables is greatly slowed down, as the activity of some particular enzymes is inhibited. In this way the shape, colour, flavor and vitamin content of the vegetables are preserved for longer in the freezer. The heat of blanching also inhibits microorganisms.
