When I started uni, I literally got all of mine for like 1 or 2 pound. Even for my house now I get everything as cheap as possible

if she’s got the money let her spend it lol. she’s just preparing for every possibility and if she’s got the means u can’t blame her & she’ll take home anything she doesnt need over time ✨

I think I only spent £100-£150 on everything I need for university. Honestly check what you already have in you room and what your family has in their houses. You would be VERY surprised how much you can save. Spend the money on items for your house when you have the house. Uni items will brake and get lost x

I tried so hard to save in areas I could! My family use everything in our house and my boyfriend will take a lot of stuff to the new house so it’s been really difficult. Thank you for the comment though, I’m sure a lot of people will benefit from this xx

You definitely want to take the can opener! It's surprising how quickly they break and how many you'll go through! Once my boyfriend and I managed to break two of his house's can openers trying to open a tin of beans 😂

I don’t understand why people in the comments are being so problematic I think whatever you bought is your own personal choice so what are you got a blanket for £16 that’s your choice if you liked it I would probably do the same thing I bought a blender probably won’t use it but I want to buy one is my first time moving out and I’m going to buy the things I want to buy I don’t see why everyone else has a problem with what you bought

If any new students are watching this, this video is pretty nice to watch, but I promise you do not need all of this, so don't use it as a guide! Here's just a list of things I brought with me as a comp sci girl. This is much more reasonable for the average uni student!: - Comforter blanket, 2 pillows, sheet set, pillow case/sack - 2 small bins, one for snacks one for rubbish - My PC & 2 monitors + laptop - 1 Mug, 1 small cutlery set (12pc) - Pop! Vinyls (minifigures) - Mini crystal tree (???) - First Aid kid - 2 towels, 2 washcloths. - Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, etc - Can Opener - Small self defense knife - Straws - black velvet coat hangers (velvety material for coat hangers is a LIFESAVER) - Makeup You may want to buy pens/paper too! I'm a comp sci student so I've very rarely needed to use stationary, so it's not listed! Also note that my halls/dorms were bedroom-only with a shared bathroom & kitchen area. (absolute scam, paid 11k pounds to live in a 2x3 box that was literally just a bed and a desk)

Ahh I wish I saw the Joesph stacking cups thing before I bought my kitchenware 😖 Edit: definitely pack your can opener, they break quite often and yours looks fairly sturdy

Will be moving to University of Northampton from Kenya & this video was very very helpful in spite of those ones who said it was excessive & wasteful. IMO it's better how you put up all these stuff then we can all deliberate depending on our budgets. I'm just so grateful coz I didn't know a single place I'll buy anything & now I have a rough idea. I'll also go for quality any day & it's an indication of how assertive you are... Why buy 1 thing twice coz it was cheap & feeble rather than buy once something sturdy making it ultimately cost effective 🤷
