I decided to try the Project 333 Minimal Capsule Wardrobe! In this video, you'll learn the rules of a Project 333 wardrobe, why women love it, and the rules of this capsule. Here's my update, Nancy! I've completely downsized my summer wardrobe, so it aligns with Project 333. I can't tell you how much freedom it's brought me. Now I know I'm wearing EVERYTHING in my closet, no more guilt. And I'm not bored with my limited color palette of black and white. Loving it!! I'm storing clothing in bins in my basement until I sort out what I no longer want or what I know I'll add to my fall 2024 capsule wardrobe. I never thought I'd be able to have a limited color palette and limited pieces of clothing. Eileen Fisher pieces are replacing my other mediocre clothing. It's proving to be a very good choice! Perhaps it's the age (69) combined with my husband's retirement (April 2023), a move to my home city and state, and the loss of my sweet, Roxy, (had for 15 years) that spearheaded my need for change and simplicity. Hoping all is well in Pennsylvania!

Great video, Nancy. I loved all the pieces you picked. I say that because I have found that I get more wear from pieces that can hide the fact that I have gone up or down in size. Unfortunately I have bought expensive pieces that are very fitted, like jeans, and then can't wear them because they are too tight. So, my takeaway is to invest in some pieces that you are able to get a lot of wear from, no matter if you go up or down a size over the years. Good quality clothing is usually made from better materials, and they stay looking sharp after repeated washing and wearing.

I enjoyed this video very much. I have used an almost minimalist wardrobe when traveling and while I was on a weight loss journey. I love patterns, color and variety so now that I've lost weight, I'm enjoying more options. I did miss seeing you in brighter colors and patterns, but you looked great in all the outfits and this video will be very helpful to us. I love your videos.

I tend to wear my Lily colours more in the winter cause I NEED THE BOOST! :) but I get your point. I don't count outerwear in my capsules. Its so dependent on what the actual weather is that its out of scope. Trade out the black for Navt and the olive for medium blue and thats where I am.

Actually, as much as I like color, I get tired of prints and patterns on me. I’ve started going through my closet and pulling out the colors and prints. I have some EF pieces and EF-like pieces. I’m going to use black, white, and small doses of gray, blue and red. Most of the color will be in accessories. I’ve wanted to try out a black and white wardrobe for a long time. I love the EF simple elegant and chic look/lines. As you said, Nancy, you can always bring back your LP pieces. Change is good for the soul!

Hi Michelle, you took the words right out of my mouth! The same thing happened to me, and I felt like I needed to embrace some neutral colors without any patterns. I like that you show us so many options for a wardrobe. This is so helpful when you actually wear them and I must say you look so chic and youthful in all of them! I enjoyed this video, how ever I could never do this myself. I love color too much and am definatly more tailored in my wardrobe choices. Also, I love the Lilly Pulitzer acrive wear, as it translated so well for going out to dinner (chage top to an Elsa and Tory Borch ballet flats and /or loafers and a bright blue linen button down shirt. So I do capsule while on a canal cruise, but with color! Also, some days I'm preppy and others I'm athleisure. You did a good job showing how the pieces all go together But my second reaction was How can you have a wardrobe over holidays with no red or green or sparkly clothing at all????!!!! No blues ...no earthcolors..or pinks, blushes...etc etc I am sure I could add some colors in if I wanted to because the colors would certainly go with the other dark and white pieces. A minimal wardrobe is a good skill to have when you want it! Enjoy!

This is a goal of mine! I started trying it but haven’t paired down to 33 pieces. I can attest that it does make getting dressed easier. I like unique pieces of clothing but they are so limiting. I liked your choices but here in Florida on Nov. 7 it is 86 degrees and I could not wear those clothes except if I go north but to spend so much (Eileen Fischer) for a few days every 3-4 years is not so practical. I will try to find similar items in lighter fabrics. When traveling I apply similar principles.

I wish I could do a capsule wardrobe. I just don’t think I can do it. I have to have more choices in what I wear. Maybe I could do a bigger capsule. And shoes alone would bother me. I’m a person who loves to have a lot to choose from when I get dressed. I usually end up wearing the same stuff most of the time. Depending on the weather. Right now it’s warmer than it has been. But next week it will be cool again. So if the weather makes up it’s mind I might try it. I have cleaned out my closet. I still need to go through all my sweaters. But I’m trying to pare down my wardrobe.

Hi Pamela, It sounds like you're already doing a capsule wardrobe by wearing the same stuff most of the time. You might even want to try a couple of capsules based on your lifestyle. Let me know how it goes!💕

I like the idea. Everything looks lovely. I’m not a fan of all that black, and I will need to use bright pops of color in my jewelry, scarves and accessories at the very least. I can see me using chocolate brown, deep berry and bright navy for my neutrals-- and some winter white for sure. You’ve definitely piqued my interest.

this was so helpful - maybe consider putting together minimalist wardrobe for people w/ high maintenance pets --------------with a heavier focus on jeans - very helpful to see that you only used 3 or 4 pair of shoes - everything looked darling on you for southern CA but also not heavy enough for Minnesota (you could have worn these things in October (too hot for September but not once it's snowed - so not for 3 month period - same thing would apply for "spring" wardrobe only good for late May to Mid June ) ....guessing "333" needs to expand to "555"+ for most the year with a 333 for the warmer months - looking like "gardening" clothes don't count in the 333 which is what a lot of people live in during the growing season

Where I live we don't have 4 seasons. We have hot, semi hot with a little bit of frozen days. So my wardrobe would look like mostly summer to you. So I don't think the 333 would work for me BUT just getting rid of somethings have worked. I do hang everything, nothing is stored or folded in a chest or tote.

Since we do not have the 4 seasons, I don't change my wardrobe. I have maybe 6-8 winter shirts. I very seldom wear a coat.

Nice pieces but very NYC. You live in SoCal where the sun shines a lot but you have no colour in your wardrobe. It’s so muted and all so similar. Wouldn’t you want a few splashes of colour to lift it?
