This video is really a testament to the effort Chugga puts into his LP's as well as how dedicated he is to helping people have as enjoyable of a time as possible with whatever game he's doing. He didn't have to make this extra video but he did and I'm sure it'll be helpful to people who might be trying this game out.

Gonna admit that some of this I like that I'm not told about, but I wish had clearer visual indicators. Fusion Combos aren't totally well-explained, but if the boosts you got from doing them were more obvious, like the icon also saying what was being increased, it wouldn't need a tutorial. You'd learn by playing. This game's greatest fault is that it's too intricately designed. A lot of the features you mention in this video are actually great ways of making a player feel good, but because tutorials dogpile you and also fail to properly direct you, players don't properly interact with those systems. It's a shame, but I'm very glad that you're putting it out there. Also, I'm glad Torna generally does a better job at explaining its simplified systems because I take that as them learning their lesson.

I mean Xenoblade 2 is an improvement over Xenoblade X in the tutorial department in the fact that it actually has them rather than telling you to read the manual (what’s funnier is that Xenoblade X doesn’t take advantage of this to have a quicker pace early on since the first several hours are still slow-paced). Xenoblade 1 does tutorials the best you can in games as complex as this by giving you the information with visual aids and access to the tutorials at anytime. I just hope that we go back to the Xenoblade 1 style tutorial system whenever we get a Xenoblade 3 or X2.

I remember getting this game for christmas because the characters looked cool and interesting, just to get confused and overwhelmed about the mechanics of the game. Now im so glad i got this game Thanks emile, dont know how i'll pay you for this

(No spoilers) Quick story: I had access to the final boss door, and was preparing by building up Pyra's skills. Randomly, when I was in Gormott, I got a tutorial out of no-where. When I saw that it was the tutorial for unique monsters, I nearly laughed my ass off that I never actually triggered that tutorial. Just wanted to share this with the world.

"Auto AttacK" - why not just name it Attack, Attack Power, or Power like basically every other RPG ever?

Since the tutorials were so poor and non-reviewable, I got stuck on Chapter 3's boss for _so_ long. Now that Chuggaa's taught me about Pouch Item effects, stutter-stepping and the existence of the Shackle Resist accessories, I beat it in no time and proceeded to steamroll my way to Chapter 6 in record(?) speed. Thanks man, now I can really enjoy this amazing game!

Regarding the "nobody has ever got group 5" thing. This specifically refers to Pity Blades, not the seeds themselves. You CAN get group 5's seed, it's just that Groups 1 and 2 both have Group 1's Pity Blades, Group 3 has Group 2's Pity Blades, Group 4 has Group 3's, and Group 5 has Group 4's.

This has helped me IMMENSELY. I'm a new player who got this game only a week ago and I've been both overwhelmed and confused by a lot of the game elements that you went over in this video. This is the most useful video on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 I have found, thank you so much for making this.

THANK YOU! I just got Xenoblade Chronicals 2 and the tutorials where either so long that I zoned out, or so confusing/ misleading that I didn't pay attention whatsoever. This video helped me a lot to understand the game, which I found really confusing.

Here's something that is never explained in the game. The game actually has a range stat. If you are within a certain range of an enemy, you will do more damage. Notice at 1:26 when he's talking about topple, there's a fire icon on the bottom right of the screen. That will actually blink relatively fast repeatingly when you're in the relatively right spot from the enemyl. Things like katanas are simple, just need to be really close. Bitzballs, ether cannon, the Aigis sword, etc are very picky on position and may need to be moved around a lot dpeneding on enemy position to achievce better damage. Sadly, the damage is relatively noticable. Welcome to the Xenoblade Series. Everything you learn is either through a guide or trail and error. You think this is bad, in Xenoblade X, if you had a question, you were referred to the game manual. And even that didn't have everything.

I love you man! I'm on about chapter 5. Such a good video. You and Enel are honestly the best source for Xenoblade tips. Though I really REALLY wish Enel or someone would make spoiler free guides like this. Instead of fighting some level 130 boss using a blade I've never seen🙈

One thing that wasn't mentioned about fusion combos. The effects gained from fusion combos depends on the order the driver and blade combos are inflicted. Inflicting a driver combo, then a blade combo will result in increased damage for the duration of the driver combo stage (when it runs out or when it goes into the next stage). Inflicting a blade combo, then a driver combo will result in additional time for the blade combo timer (you can do this repeatedly, allowing you to stall the timer in case you need to build up your specials).

I've always wondered whether auto-attack meant just the auto attacks or if it included the specials and moves; guess I found my answer. Also, that was the quickest and best explained version of the core crystals I've ever seen.

For anyone reading the comments, the skill trees of blades is kinda wonky. You have to check the skill tree when the game gives you a message or prompt that it leveled up, otherwise the level up doesn't occur...tutorials being shoddy again. The other thing about the skill tree, the leftmost skills in yellow that were mentioned here occur at random as far as I know, so if you aren't seeing effects in consistent succession, that's why. Hope this is considered helpful, I know you can only condense so much into a 10 minute video

Goddamn I love you chugga. Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time and people not being able to get into it because of how obtuse it is breaks my heart. This is probably the best easiest to understand tutorial on the game I've ever seen and I hope to god more people play this game because of you.

I just wanted to come back and say thank you. I watched this a few weeks back and decided to give XC2 another go. On my first go at it a few years back I just found the combat slow and frustrating and quit after about 15 hours. I’m now 20 hours into my second go (chapter 4) and having a great time.

Hey Emile I have to thank u. Because of this playthru and u having to stop to help your mom(which by the way I hope she recovers nicely) it finally got me to buy and play Xenoblade 2 myself and I loved it. I had already played and beat the 3ds version on 1 which I also liked. But hadn't wanted to play 2 till now. I have beat 2 and am currently in Fonda Mima in my New Game+ playthru and have also started the Torna DLC. I've also still haven't got two of the Blades u have, being Agate and Electra. But I do have most of the other Pre credits blades minus the big special guest one that wasn't dlc. So once again thanks.

I'm ~80 hours in and like halfway through chapter 9, but this taught me so much useful info, and reaffirmed some things I found out after a loooong time playing. Fantastic video.

This is going to be so useful. I just downloaded the game today (the full $90 expansion pack because why not). I was debating whether to play the game myself or watch this lp, and ultimately decided I wanted the experience because Xenoblade 1 was life-changing. If they are accidentally released, they can be resonated with again through random Core Crystals. - The first Blade awakened will always be a common Wind Knuckle Claws and cannot be released. - Water Ether Cannon: Buy the Inherited Core Crystal from Margia's Odds and Ends for a whopping 500,000G. Returning to the shop later with this Blade gets you half the amount back. - Earth Megalance: Obtained automatically in Chapter 3 in the form of the Beastly Core Crystal, but cannot be awakened until Chapter 4. - Electric Ether Cannon: Found in a small shrine in Chapter 6's main town in the form of the Sealed Core Crystal, requires several collectibles to access. - Electric Bitball: Reward for completing the quest _Tranquility_ , available starting Chapter 4. - Dark Shield Hammer: After reaching the new area in Chapter 4, obtain the Greedy Monster info and repeatedly fail the Salvage Point at Chansagh Wastes until the Gluttonous Marrin appears.
