Today we give an update on the L83 180 Degree Header 1963 Studebaker Lark. We setup a new rear gear. We rebuild the engine. We attempt to setup the clutch. Everything fights!!

Calvin, I really enjoy the video's you make. The Studebaker is my favorite of all of the cars you build. The fact that you take the time to make video's while you are also trying to get wrenching done is awesome. Best wishes to your dad.

Please remember that a lot of us are here for the knowledge that you and your dad have to share. Videos don’t have to be about your current build and racing. It could be a simple tech talk. Suspension setup on one of cars and why you chose it. A specific tool and why you like it. 4200 tuning tips, cam timing, etc.

First, this things gonna be a looker. I can already tell that - those wheels are just made for it. The sound those headers put out will rattle windows for a few miles away 🙂 As to your time between videos, don't worry. If it bothers you a great deal, just do a short or two using your phone. People who follow just want to know everyone's good, healing, getting better. Projects come and go but people... people are what matters here. All the best, take your time and strive to do things the safe way!

So, I actually like you showing all the little problems you have to overcome. It’s the reality of the work. If it’s never seen, someone who is inspired to take on a project like this will have unrealistic expectations and probably fail.

Great progress on the car, don’t worry about your subscribers, family is most important. You don’t have to make huge progress videos, just throw up a quick in the shop video once a week, quick editing, even if it’s just going over things more in detail, you guys are way above the curve in tech videos, the more details the Better, give your parents my best wishes, I’m sure having your dad down is hard on your mom too, see you later

I liked this video because I am EXACTLY in the same boat and it was nice to hear the advice of just stepping back for a minute. I have been building my race truck for 2.5 years, have sunk every paycheck into it for that duration, have a MASSIVE OneNote document with parts, resources, diagrams, instruction sheets for parts I have yet to install or buy because I'm not quite there, etc... I have been completely overwhelmed and have a new clutch/flywheel assembly sitting on the ground while the cab is off the truck elsewhere. I will not have access to the 2 post lift that is near the truck now when it's time to install all of that, so I'll be back in my 2 car garage to do all of that. Have had the truck 3 different places doing work on it where and how I can and I am spent. I commented on your 180* header video and have since been done with that crazy setup, and that is just a drop in the bucket. Not trying to complain that I'm getting to build my dream truck as I always feel grateful for that-- but just stating the very draining and frustrating path that doing this type of thing can be for the average person. This is especially hard these days when you're surrounded by top tier builds all over social media that seem to just materialize and you're left spending a day fighting a few wrong bolts lol. I literally just got a Summit order and they sent me the wrong pilot bearing for my SBF to T56 Magnum. The frustrating part is that it would have installed because its that correct OD, and has a bigger ID, and I would have never known since it was in the right part's packaging, but I knew visually that it was the wrong type because I was shopping around. Could have wrecked the shaft. Right there with you. Anyway, thanks for the advice and video helping me at this moment in time on my build.

Good call using the QuickTime rather than Lakewood -- they're way lighter and about the same size an OEM bell housing. The Lakewood ones are hydroformed, which is why they're so thick and have so much extra material, and probably why the holes aren't in exactly the right spot.
