Anyone who has actually played in a game with Telepathy out will know that it is the anti-fun, melter of minds. It must be destroyed at all costs.

Copying permanet spells does not create tokens and therefore does not interact with doubling season. I don't think it mattered much this game; it's just a weird rules interaction.

@@Ezepasch You still do represent the copy with a token and for rule purposes it still is a token. But while the copy of a permanent spell is resolving it is not considered to be "created" for any rules or replacement effects See Rule 608.3f If the object that’s resolving is a copy of a permanent spell, it will become a token permanent as it is put onto the battlefield in any of the steps above. A token put onto the battlefield this way is no longer a copy of a spell and is not “created” for the purposes of any rules or effects that refer to creating a token.

I think this would not have mattered much but still is a tricky interaction. While copying a kicked spell (the kicked Jace Planeswalker spell) the copy will know that the original spell was kicked. Therefor resolving the copy of the Jace Spell will enter, seeing it was kicked, create another copy with 1 loyalty and then the original will resolve doing the same. So you would end up with 4 copies of Jace, 2 of with are at starting loyalty and the other 2 are at 1 loyalty. :) I hope this helped.

wouldn't the kicked copy get removed by the legend rule tho? only the copy's created by jace aren't legendary anymore.

The first time I read Game Preserve I thought it put ANY creatures revealed into play. Was so confused about why it was whiffing each turn lol. Great video, as always!

Wow, kudos to the Xyris player. It's always nice to see a competently built hug deck that has win conditions and takes advantage of the big endgame. Shame he didn't get the W, but an interesting match nonetheless.

At 15:12 about Wild Evocation, since I saw you put bolt bend into the graveyard: 2010-08-15: If a player reveals a nonland card, but can’t cast it due to a lack of legal targets or a play restriction, it simply remains in their hand.

Verazol was the first deck I ever built from scratch. Mine is a +1/+1 counters deck that can go wide or tall or win off of a simic ascendency. It ramps harder than any other deck I own and plays some really splashy cards. I love kicker and Verazol is so unique!

I believe doubling season would not make a second copy of baloth. Doubling Season only copies tokens created by effects, and a copy of a spell resolving is not an effect.

It was a misplay. He was supposed to get only one (from Verazol copying the spell). Doubling Season shouldn't have worked here because the token wasn't actually created; it was just a copy of a permanent spell that became a token.

Not really a big fan of this kind of group hug... I'm currently building a deck around monarch and initiative, where, in order to get the group hug, people have to punch each other in the face first. 😛

Shorikai players always lose and always blame the wrong thing. You need explosiveness in Azorious, drawing a bunch of cards, especially more value pieces is just a waste of time. Get Spawning Kraken in pronto.
