The point is to remember to settle one’s nerves and insecurities constantly even when cornered on a hard place.. that’s really the training.. so we actively remember centeredness and peace is always available and act from that state.. that’s really really what we are training to master

They are not ego emotions like fear, guilt, jealousy, hatred, etc. that are coming and going, rising and falling. They are What is true. They do not come and go. They can be obscured by ego thoughts and emotions (grievances) but can never ever be absent. They never come and go, never rise and fall. Ego thoughts and emotions are like clouds that can obscure the sky (love, joy and peace) but the sky is always the sky. The sky is not coming and going like the clouds no matter how obscured it seems by the clouds that are coming and going.

There's a "thinking of all the Universe", that can replace personal self-reflective thoughts. You could think of it as the Holy Spirit's script as opposed to the ego's. You could think of it as love meeting the needs of the moment through you. This is Spiritual intelligence is acknowledged in many Spirit’s Paths. It's not a booming voice in your head like people expect. Not even Helen heard it that way. Those coming from a Course background will say it's Jesus. There's nothing wrong with that but at some stage Jesus needs to be understood as a symbol for the Christ everyone really is. Jesus was Christ because he realised there was no Jesus. To not get that is to not understand the Course's metaphysics. However, just have a look through the Course groups and you won't have to look far to see Course students weaponising "what Jesus told me personally" and "what was revealed to me by direct Revelation" to make themselves right by making others wrong, and to that "direct revelation" and "Jesus" seems to be telling everyone contradictory things. It can be a huge specialness trap to go around telling everyone you're hearing Jesus and potential to "hear" your own ego in it's Halloween costume telling you what you want to hear is very great. It is for this reason that I advise caution on this and do not over-emphasise it or making hearing the Holy Spirit primary. It is not primary. It is an echo. There is no echo without the song of Self Remembrance in the Holy Instance. It's too easy to skip the song, stay an ego, and hear nothing but ego. The song of the Holy instant is primary. This is what I teach as does the Song of prayer. The echo will take care of itself. The wanting of the echo as primary is ego and will not work. It will lead to delusion where the ego's voice is mistaken for the Holy Spirit. Or it will lead to disillusionment when a new voice is not there in others.

@@acimwithkeith thanks Keith, you were on it, then went off on a tangent. I get that Jesus is a story/symbol of our One Self. And i never expected a ‘booming voice’. yet the still small voice of Truth/Certainty. Ive experienced it sporadically over the years, yet never consistently. I’ve never been able to navigate ‘this world’ and have always wanted only to hear my voice for God and follow it (as the birds and the rest of life does)🙏as the workbook indicates.
