I love when kids areas get revamped, although it doesn't help the older guests without kids, it certainly adds charm to the park

Man… I really hope this doesn’t mean the end of Montezooma. It’s one of my favorite coasters of all time. On the day Boomerang opened, I was at Knott’s. Never rode Boomerang that day. But my bestie and I did ride Montezooma’s Revenge 53 times that day. I’m super nervous and literally physically ill at the thought of it being removed to increase the size of Camp Snoopy.

Montezooma most likely is gonna go. They will probably have to hire someone to rebuild it but the original track is likely gonna get scrapped.

@@craversaints921 Why? New loops get built on new rides. Obviously it can happen. But…after seeing their video showing the train rerouted next to the cars which are nowhere near each other now, yeah I am worried.

Everyone keep in mind, the pandemic threw everything off by one year, camp Snoopy refurb would've originally happened this year, which is the 40th anniversary of the land (opened in 1983), so what we're seeing was planned years ago, but I have to wonder, what was changed last minute due to Monty 🤔

I hope Knott's takes a few hints from Disney and add more trees to the area to a give it more of a forest theme for the new Camp Snoopy. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

I am glad they are going to redo that restaurant as its menu items and decor have been lacking for years! They have been doing a great job around the park with the changes to the Pizza restaurant and Fiesta Village so looking forward to seeing what they bring here A real shame they are not putting back the higher bouncy bridge in Camp Snoopy...that thing used to be fun and the higher bridge there made the area look cooler as well

Probably a liability with people throwing things off or spitting on the people below. Not to mention the constant maintenance that such a thing requires.

So glad they’re giving Camp Snoopy some much deserved updates! I’m actually really interested in seeing if they actually change the ride experience for the train or just the name. I don’t think that the train route is going to change. The rendering is most likely just to make for a nice transition since there isn’t a practical means or reason to get the train over there. That all said, I do definitely agree with you that moving the canoe is a pointless downgrade.

I don’t know about that. Knott’s tends to make VERY accurate video renderings of what an area will be. Look at what they did for Fiesta Village. So I think the train will actually be next to the cars, but I don’t understand how. From what I can see, that IS the current entrance of the cars. So does that mean they are taking out a whole bunch of rides to route the train closer? How does it get past The Cave food stand? I really don’t understand this rendering at all. Unless it is what you said. But that would be so unlike Knott’s to show something different that what is on blueprints.

@@gregg5958 There’s no reasonable way to get the train over there and back. The amount of space a train of that size needs to turn around simply wouldn’t be available.

@@MatecaCorp That’s what I was thinking too, but again their videos and photos tend to be quite accurate on what they are doing. So unless they are deviating from that, something’s up here. I wish we had a site plan from them to see the full layout of their changes. I want to see the car route changes and the train changes in detail.

i’m honestly pretty sad timberline twister is getting removed. it was the first coaster i ever rode and i remember riding it so much as a little kid but the new coaster does look rlly good

Monty was my first big coaster and I'll miss it, but things can't last forever; 45 years was a long time. Extending the railway and surrounding it with grass and shrubs will add to Camp Snoopy's natural aesthetic. I'm not kid, and I don't have any, but I'm happy to see the park investing heavily in the area, especially after the news of the Six Flags merger.

No mention in the announcement of removing Monty. However the High Sierra Ferris Wheel is being removed for the Camp Swing. Quote Orange County Register.

Doesn't 100% mean Monty's done for. Don't get hopes up still. But looking at the ride's structure, it shouldn't be too difficult to have the train weave through the supports of Monty.

@@mattglumactheautisticgolfe1608 Yeah but how does it get there? I cannot wrap my head around it unless they are taking out The Cave food stand along with all the other rides between the train station and the Cars. But that seems like a strange decision just to expand the train.

All looks really great, although I completely agree with you about moving the canoe. Totally unnecessary. Downgrades the entry statement and takes away from the natural beauty of the large waterfalls.

I’m so sad that monte could be going. I never went to it. Plus is the truck company ride having annoying honks because when I go there from Fiesta Village I get greeted from those honks. Also is the horse ride I forgot the name closing for the sign and drain the water for the big water fall. Do we also need a theater too?! The theater is for seating but why not a another ride? I like the train could be getting replace or having no shade. Isn’t the swing ride too extreme?! Well we lost probably 2 rides from camp snoopy. If the train ride getting replaced, they have to put a railroad crossing.

That's where the Giga coaster was gonna go before the pandemic, they closed it in 2019. But plans changed, and we got new restaurants, restrooms, fiesta village (Monty 😔 ) hotel refurb, and now camp Snoopy refurb.

I think this new expansion might be over montezooma’s knotts is very limited on space. And yes mid 2024.

Now I know for a fact that Knotts wouldn’t start a renovation on a ride and cancel it because of plotting issues. I know Knotts is more professional and outgoing with planning so I still believe Montezuma‘s Revenge could still stay, but I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

The new swing ride is replacing the ferris wheel. The building next to the swing is Candy Cabin, a virtual carbon copy. As you can tell, per usual, Knotts isn't being fully transparent with us. They gave us a video that brought about even more questions 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Exactly I'm not the biggest fan of them. Switching where snoopy goes over the waterfall. I wish they would have just added something to the other water fall with the bridges in camp snoopy.
