Life Elevated Off Grid

Күн бұрын

The foundation to our home is poured! It was all hands on deck for our three concrete trucks. Our hearts are full to the sight of our foundation. This is the first noticeable step towards our dream home.
Going from the city to the middle of the nowhere Utah. After living in the city our whole lives we decided to sell everything. We packed up and moved our family of 4 and sometimes 6 into our RV. We're going off grid with as much of the modern technology we can make happen. Follow us as we build our Homestead.

Having recently done a layout, I can appreciate the artistry that goes into setting up all of those string lines. None of your blocks were buttered.....Are you planning to pour grout into the wall when you're done?

pouring concrete like that and without proper footings and by not using forms on the side of the foundation it will degrade much faster and crack and your wasting so much extra concrete , but great that everyone works well together and sorry to comment like that but its best to know the truth and hopefully it will all work out in the end
@lifeelevatedoffgrid
@lifeelevatedoffgrid 2 жыл бұрын
Hi James! When you dig a trench for footings the trench walls are your forms. Wood forms or dirt forms, it doesn’t matter and won’t degrade the concrete. We did have to raise the footers in a couple areas last minute to make everything all the block walls align correctly so we used a lot more concrete but I wasn’t worried about. I agree that it doesn’t look the greatest but it will all be below grade here pretty soon. Thanks

I am new to your channel, with that said this was the first video I have watched. I have never seen a foundation done this way. When do you put the mortar In between the blocks or are you planning g on it? I look forward to see hoe you complete the foundation and the rest of the block work.
@lifeelevatedoffgrid
@lifeelevatedoffgrid 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim! We installed 4 rows high of block with mortar. The first row will be mortared right before grouting inside the block. Stay tuned that is coming soon.
