I guess you're talking about the Barranco de Masca (it ends in a beach that even has a tiny pier). Jay took the another one going West (he was walking to the left). It was the Barranco de Juan López, which is a more difficult gorge to walk through. There are lots of reviews on Google stating how difficult it is to travel through it. Apparently, it starts kind of easy but after 5-10 minutes of walking cactus and vegetation become denser and they partially cut your way.

@@georgezee5173 Yes I was referring to Barranco de Masco. I think the jetty has recently been refurbished (the beach was closed for some years when jetty got damaged in a storm). I guess he could have strayed down the wrong barranco .... or led down it to the sea and waiting boat.
