To do this you need a hotspot to connect to. I used a second phone and while it worked it was pretty laggy. I need to see if the Netflix phone version gives the option to download.

Great review. In it you mentioned running your sound via an aux cord to your home theater system. How do you get that to give you better sound? Would it not just give you stereo sound? No 5.1 sound I believe? Or am I missing something? Thanks

Thanks for your review, I seemed to have missed any details on the projection, could you do an update with minimum distance to screen display (ie what size does it project and keep working back per foot) as I'd like to know for using in a campervan.

Very nice review, I have had the Xgimi Halo for about a month now. It’s a great projector with great image and colors. It’s a bummer that they don’t have a 4K version for the price but you can still play 4K videos on it has it supports them. I played Red Dead Redemption and FIFA 19 through my PS4 Pro and I didn’t even notice any lag.

My thoughts exactly! Why are there only a handfull of *portable* projectors with usb-c charging? Whats the point of a super small projector, if the power brick doubles it's package size.

@@Roger-zi3xq you still need a power supply (brick) for USB C, to convert the 110-240v AC power to a lower voltage, but it probably could have been a little smaller or built in.

totally! There is one great projector which has this option available - Philips PicoPix Max, but its more expensive than this model and Im not sure if its worth the price today.

You can convert USB-C to DC and then power the projector via say a power bank. It's not difficult. You just need to make sure the power bank outputs 90W USB-C PD, anything less might not be enough to charge while in use. A 60w USB-C power bank may be enough when the brightness settings are low.

On some devices that are chargeable and you keep the power cord plugged in it destroys the battery. For instance my GPS that I use in my work truck I constantly keep it plugged in now if I unplug at the battery dies within 30 seconds . And I was told that was because you kept the power cord constantly plugged into it instead of charging it and unplugging it and using the battery until it died . I don't know if you know the answer to this but is this device that way? if you constantly have it plugged in will it destroy the battery? Thank you for video excellent. I'm excited to buy one of these but the battery concern is an issue for me

There would be battery protection tech. It will automatically stop charges when it's fully charged. So both using it while charging and charging when the battery runs out are ok.

Either option works. If you have the cable for your Mac displaying your screenugjt be easiest. When putting a file on a USB you would just need to make the video format is compatible with Android.

@@stevedecklin Mogo Pro plus came out with both vertical and horizontal auto keysyone but it has also 300 ANSI lumens and when I compared it with the Formovie dice projector, upgraded version with 700 ANSI lumens I decided it was more value for money. It have vertical auto keystone only but I valued the higher ANSI lumens since I wamt tp be able to use it outdoor in the backyard for summer movie nights. I am very satisfied with the Formovive dice, good picture quality and sound

Just brought one and can not wait, I have a question. Does the image come out at an angle or does it come out straight from the projector? Example to make more sense of my question would be if the projector was sitting flat on a 600mm table 2m from the wall would the projector image be shot out lower or higher then the table by the time it hits the wall ? Like your videos! You mentioned this projector is one of the best...but what about an iPhone version or does it matter? We have a mixed household with Android and iPhone (I refuse to go back to iPhone), so would this work on either device or would we need to invest in two types? What about a comparison video of top 3 or 5 projectors out there? Also, what about Mogo standard vs this Pro version? Worth the upgrade?

Great questions! This will work with either phone really well. The benefit of Android is you can mirror your screen and iPhone can't. I'll look into some other projectors that I could possibly compare. The MoGo has many of the same features except it only has 210 Lumens and 960 x 540 resolution, so it won't be has bright or clear as the MoGo Pro.

If I would have to separately purchase a Chromecast just to use Netflix, I might as well just purchase the cheap ones and get a good Bluetooth speaker with the money I save. Just a bit over two hours of battery life is a no go. You'll be needing a power outlet anyway after a movie.

@@chloez5725 All I have to do is purchase a Chromecast and a good bluetooth speaker (JBL Flip 5) and connect both to a cheap projector and I save money for better value. Why would I need Android TV? Everything I can use on my phone I can cast to the Chromecast and I get much better value for a separate good sounding bluetooth speaker because I can use it just for music compared to that tiny speaker of Mogo Pro which I can't use for music. Just a bit over 2 hours of battery power? One movie and you'll need a power source? I might as well get a cheap one without a built-in battery and keep it plugged in. What difference does two hours make?

@@DukePaul I have for a couple weeks now...Love it.. batery life is no big deal...you wont get 2 hrs under normal use..maybe 30 or 40 min.. i keep it plug anyway...No native Netflix...not a big deal..there are ways to put it in or like u said..use chromecast... i use Kodi to play all my downloaded movies through the usb input...small speaker..no problem..bluetooth to an amp with stereo speaker and hook up a power subwoofer..projector are meant to be watch in the dark anyway..again, the low light no big deal....watching 100 in screen, and image is good...happy with this small device

@@buckhaa1502 Oh I'm sure you'll love it if you paid that much money for it. I didn't say you won't. What I'm saying is it's too expensive for what it is. I bought a $150 projector with built-in Android + a good Bluetooth speaker and it's perfect. Installed all apps I want, good resolution and brightness and I can also use the Bluetooth speaker for other devices when I'm not watching movies.

Seems to me most of the issues are unrelated to the projector. Most of the 40min video dedicated to setup and software. 39th min to talk about how quiet it is, which is really important on something sitting in front, above or right behind you. I’m interested and watched the whole vid. Too much related to non projector issues. Android tv review plus 20% hardware......

These guys are paid for reviews. Mogo pro does not have sufficient brightness. Does not display crisp and clear as they say even in complete darkness. Returning mine.
