It's a shame more agencies weren't used thoroughly in this game, especially SAHP, I always thought they were cool, hopefully 6 goes more in depth with the police system, seeing actual traffic stop events again like in 4 would be cool too, maybe MVAs too, I mainly just wanna see more variety in vehicle spawns lol

Man, these guys just reminds me of the 2013 days of trying to find a police bike.

They can also spawn and chase you in both story mode and online if you have a wanted level and you are driving near the ammu nation near the NOOSE headquarters

Another fun fact: On the 360/PS3 versions of the game, the patches on Michael and Trevor's uniforms is an exact copy of the actual CHP patch, but with the word "San Andreas" instead of California. In the enhanced version, the patches were changed to the goofy Los Santos Highway Patrol ones.

Those police helicopter quotes are amazing, some serious GTA SA vibes right there. Even one of the voice actors sounds similar to one of the guys in GTA SA that's in the police helicopter. "Nice spin, asshole!"

13:15 There are 4 different voice types in SAHP, and half of them actually use the voices of LSPD Cops. Ironically, Since these voices are not used for the actual LSPD Cops, you can only hear them from the SAHP. ;D

Now that explains the outfits Micheal and Trevor get in "I fought the law". Was wondering why that's what they get when there aren't police like that. Turns out there are and I just never noticed!

there can also be an SAHP spawn on route 68 near the LSC that Franklin can buy and own (near the clothes store) if you head just past the gas station (where the duke o death random event happens) one will spawn with a bike there.

Hey, cool video ;) I assume the reason why they dont take the bikes in the city test is a consequence of a vehicle tag preventing the AI from getting on the bike, which may be due to pathfinding issues around those funky positions at ramps and the such.

Coming back to this well after the GTA VI trailer, I'm glad to see that the Leonida Highway Patrol should be having a more noticeable presence, even with Gauntlet police vehicles like the actual Florida Highway Patrol, it's seeming like the law enforcement in VI will have much more variety and detail. It also seems like V was meant to have much more detail and depth in law enforcement, I'm sure a team of devs really wanted that to be the case, it's unfortunate it didn't fully turn out.

I'm guessing they were supposed to have air-support too. Because only LSPD and SAHP officers have helicopter megaphone quotes, LSSD and NOOSE do not. So there was probably an SAHP variant of the polmav planned. Also the highways are seperate zonebinds (aka what dispatch uses to identify what cops to spawn) so I'm gonna guess highways were supposed to have SAHP be the main agency at lower wanted levels, maybe even cars were planned for them. Sadly probably got scrapped before they even made any models or anything. Also the police bikes don't have the "emergency service" flag so cops on the bike will not turn on their siren in time and is likely the cause for them to not take the bikes. Not exactly sure on that tho.

I always felt like the cops were a missed opportunity, I mean you could've just had a bunch of palette swaps and maybe different cars, but instead you just get 1 palette swap and a slightly different cop car

I find it funny that SAHP is a state agency, with LSPD officers. Since they are SAHP (Which is San Andreas) but the uniform and Vehicle are both Los Santos (Even when in Blaine county)

It'd be pretty cool if someone scripted in SAHP into the game like it was intended to be. Maybe just make a skin for the Buffalo and Police Maverick to add to the fleet too.

in director mode, if u play as highway patrol, u have some police abilitys/properties or whatever u wanna call them, if u get a wanted level, regular officers will ignore u (unless u attack or bump into them) while helicopters, noose and soldiers in fort zancudo will attack u anyway

I don't know what game version you have but there are two variations of SAHP badge. One in your game version is Los Santos highway patrol and another looks exactly like CHP but saying San Andreas Highway Patrol.

Genuinely thought the models were director mode exclusives from cut content, I have over 2000 hours in GTA 5 and I've never seen any highway patrol. Singleplayer, or Online. The more you know!

In the game code apparently someone found code that would give you a wanted level for running red lights, speeding, among other traffic infractions but they aren't complete code and can't function (I think) So it definitely was planned to make them respond to you breaking all of the laws. They probably didn't flesh it out enough to be able to release it or it was buggy or incomplete so that sucks.

If you have the LSPDFR mod in the game, I have something interesting to tell. (Click the "Read More") So, if you're in a pursuit and you called the SAHP (state patrol) backup for pursuit, I found that some SAHP officers also drives the Unmarked Police Cruisers (comes with the name POLICE 4) with white color while responding to the pursuit. While some just responds with the Police Bikes. Hope you find this interesting!

Also kinda wished the biker cops should've joined in the wanted level chases like the cop bikers from SA

That cop chasing you on a lawnmower is an absolute chad.

When you spawn a vehicle via simple native trainer, no npc would take that car, they can't. If you spawn police bike normally or steal it, cops would go on it.

That they don't last long in chases seem more of the friendly fire of their collegues on the cars xD i guesd its fair they wouldn't use the biked knowing how aggressive are the gta 5 cops on the cars that they would kill them by accident if the highway patrol polices goes with the bikes xd
