((This is unrelated for the most part but this was my mom and i’s favorite horror show. She passed two weeks ago and didn’t get to see season 2, and I know she’d have been pacing the floor with me when ole guy began his tune up the steps at the end. Had to leave this part here- for her. Rest peacefully, momma. 🕊))

The scene where he has the stocking over his head and conversing with the directors/ audition people. Literally gave me chills. I think I was the most scared at this point then any other scene in the show lol

Super good the actor playing Edmund , Luke James is killing it.. that scene when he was being interrogated and grabbed the camera was amazing.

Since I see comments wondering if season 1 is worth watching if you’re just wanting to skip to the second…. Let’s just say, the biggest highlights of season 2 are literally the tie ins from the first one. It was pretty slow for me until the very final 2 minutes of the entire season where I actually had to stand up and start pacing from excitement because they brought back the OG family pic and “black face” from season 1. (I hate to even call him that so bluntly but his physical appearance speaks for itself.) I felt like that was the most memorable ending they could’ve given us in my opinion. That, or maybe “cat in a bag” baby somehow being the thing that was in the box at the end. But I especially like the final character’s return because I kept thinking through out “well, Edmund is a freak, but he’s not NEARLY as scary as him…” All in all, S1 is show stopping and worth 10 watches although most can only stomach once. I’d definitely spend your time watching that first.

Overall still good. The acting in the series is done really really well. I'm surprised at some of the comments about that particularly. Agree with a comment above about the truly unhinged disturbance of the 1 season. What made it fall into horror for me was the unhuman treatment of the family, pepper with horror cinematic magic and it's a top tier for me. Season 2 felt a different showcasing of it's racial roots, focusing more on connection and black love than generational harm.

I could not agree more about season 1. It was deeply, deeply disturbing and I don’t think I can stomach watching it again but I don’t have to because I have never forgotten any of it. It was horror but in a uniquely devastating way. I thought season 2 was good and not traumatizing in the same degree (which is fine tbh) and felt more like AHS or stranger things. I enjoyed it but for different reasons

It was pretty good. I guessed that Edmund was “Him” by episode 2 because I could tell that he was slowly going insane. I really liked his backstory and how he was more of a tragic villain than a regular one. I can only imagine how damaging it can be for a child to be abandoned by 2 adoptive families. Edmund’s theme seemed to be rejection.

It was hilarious. I caught on immediately! Of course that song is totally from my era. 2 episodes in, & I like the 1st season a bit better so far. I had a lot of emotional eruptions throughout season 1(being half black myself), but it was also a memorable, impactful experience. I hope the 2nd season isn’t too sci-fi/over-the-top with no real direction. Feedback isn’t so great, but not bad either. I watched all of season one yesterday, in just one day!! I Was hooked from the start. It’s basically, an extended version of the movie! Much much more detail involved! Very engrossing.

I just finished it. Over all season one was a million times better. Much more thought out and left you full of dread. There was very few moments this season that did that and they had to do with a knife or a paper cutter. I did like the things they added through out that you had to pay attention for you to catch like the girl her son was talking to saying her uncle Ed was in trouble for doing things.. That said, the actor who portrayed Edmund was amazing and really stole the show. There were a lot of story lines going on, some that didn't get tied up or answered that I truly am still wondering the answer to.. I wasn't necessarily expecting the tie in to the first season.. but we shall see what happens.

Season 1 was incomplete, they couldve added so much more . Ending it with the mother having super powers and not using them on those whyte ppl was a letdown. Plus, it fast forwarded it to the 90s. Skipping the 70s & 80s was a complete fail. There could've been so many stories implemented into the 60s , 70s & 80s. And why did it take 3 years to make the 2nd season? I wish I had the opportunity to write for them

This show started out great! Like HBO quality stuff! BUT!!!!! after episode episode 3 it took a HUGE dip in quality IMO. It seems like the first three episodes had good directors and then every director afterwards were not so good. The second half is like a TOTALLY DIFFERENT SHOW! They use every overused horror trope in the book. Deep voice = scary, random big smiles = scary, cheesy raggedy Ann bad guy, over acting dramatic shots to the point of complete cornballness, lights flicker = scary …..I was really trying to like this show too because the first season was great but like I said it’s goes from HBO quality and quickly turns into some CW style goofiness. The show becomes overly predictable, the “scares” go from unnerving to corny, and it becomes overall just lazy. It’s really sad but this show had so much potential and they really dropped the ball IMO …..oh well 🤦‍♂

Idk about you all but this season is kind of disappointing with the main character Reeves being somewhat dumb found and ignorant to a lot of things right in her face. The first season was amazing but she could have done ALOT of things different. I still can’t figure of how she didn’t put 2 and 2 together with Edmund coming to her house then finding out she was adopted and that scene not replaying in her head. He brought her a daggone birthday cake with Happy Belated birthday on it.
