I agree about showing Cooler and Frieza's sibling rivalry. The only time Cooler and Frieza are shown together is in "Plan To Eradicate the Saiyans." As for Vegeta, he'd be out of place in this movie, especially considering he hasn't officially joined the good guys yet during this time. He does in the next Cooler movie.

Gardetrace Oh yeah. Speaking of "Plan To Eradicate The Saiyans", I wish FUNimation would dub that OVA already. Along with "Yo Son Goku And His Friends Return". Another thing I liked about "Plan To Eradicate The Saiyans" was the fact that it was also the first time we see Vegeta and Turles on screen together.

@@Gardetrace I don't see how Vegeta would've been out of place. It wouldn't matter if he had officially joined the good guys during this time period. We all know that Vegeta had no problem siding with Kuririn, Gohan, Piccolo and Goku when they were faced against Freeza. It'd be no different in this scenerio. And he was already living on Earth right after the battle on Namek.

It gives him a bad boy/cool guy vibe for not showing up. Plus he would have just been easily beaten up like in all the other dbz movies

It's also worth noting that Goku and Piccolo would've seemingly begun training for the Androids at this point. That, on top of Goku's zenkai and the fact that Cooler was hardly even fighting back, makes the whole sequence a lot .ore reasonable in context.

Also Goku has a tendency to bs, when experiencing a new form. I think he was still figuring out Friezas new form, also. Goku being Goku, as he was in Resurrection F, kinda letting Frieza run out his stamina concocting a plan to vanquish him, a la Muhammad Ali, in some his match then hitting his version of the rope a dope.

It is also true that canonically the movie counterparts are stronger than the anime/manga counterparts.

No Zenkai boost, Goku ssj was simply stronger than Cooler. The fact that Cooler said his final form was stronger than Freezer one, doesn't mean nothing, the difference would be very minimal and even Mecha Freeza said that he was stronger than the last fight in namek and than he get beaten by ssj future Trunks with one move. In my opinion last form Cooler is equal to Mecha Freezer and weaker than 100% Freezer. Just remember that the official power level until namek saga, states 100% full power Freeza with a power level of 120.000.000 and ssj goku 150.000.000. 30.000.000 of difference between both that in the Freeza saga still an huge power level, in fact it is the power level of Goku base form fighting Freezer. But besides the numbers and power level that are not a sure and right parameter of comparison, what i am trying to say is that the difference could be even minimal and not huge like some people think.

@@M3rtyville Dragon Ball Minus doesn't actually contradict anything that was depicted in the original manga. Just because DB Minus didn't show Bardock confronting Freeza does not mean it didn't happen. And guess what, I was right. DB Broly shows Bardock attempting to push back Freeza's Death Ball. Really the only contradiction I can think of is that Bardock's outfit was changed.

@@12227UserName Well actually Bardock's confrontation with Frieza no longer happen. In the new movie, he doesn't confront Frieza at all, just fires a blast at his Supernova to try and stop it, meanwhile in the original story, he fought through Frieza's entire army, all the way up into space and personally confronted him. Frieza didn't even throw the Supernova till Bardock tried to shoot him.

@@kiddfaz That's not how the ORIGINAL story went. In the original, he did in fact confront Freeza and that's more or less all we know. But that said, it doesn't even show in the original manga him firing a ki blast. DB Minus' interpretation is nearly no different than what was ORIGINALLY depicted in the manga. Biggest difference is that Burdock's armor is different. Also, the film's backstory is a bit short and feels somewhat rushed. It's quite possible that there's additional scenes that may be added in an extended version of the film. Or possibly the anime Super might expand on it.

Sorbet learned of Goku defeating Majin Boo due to spy cameras. That was specifically stated. Also, it's not unlikely that people knew that a Saiyan killed Freeza. Vegeta was known for rebelling against Freeza hence Cui was ordered to kill him. And the Special Ginyu Force had scouters. So if their battle with Goku had been recorded at all, Freeza's men would have likely known about him. Not to mention that in Yo! Son Goku and Friend's return, Tarble states that he heard from a Namekian that they killed Freeza.

Zenkai boosts are gained when you're beaten half to death, yet Goku was still standing and could have kept fighting, so no Zenkai boost there. 2. This film is set in an alternative timeline where Goku killed Frieza, and returned straight to Earth after leaving Namek. He never goes to Yardrat to learn how to teleport, and he doesn't have control over the Super Saiyan form like he demonstrates to Future Trunks. In this movie, he had to get mad to go Super Saiyan again. 3. I know what their power levels are, in the original video, I list their power levels. So after the first 2 points I made, it doesn't make sense that Cooler can't put up much of a fight against Goku despite being more than twice as strong as both SSJ Goku and Frieza combined.

Almost a year ago, I saw Fusion Reborn late on a animated show based animated movie night in English Dub with the American soundtrack, and there were parts where the music was too loud to the point where it was kind of hard to understand what characters were saying, but for some reason, I haven't had this problem any of the other times I saw that whole movie, and those other times were also in English Dub with the American soundtrack. Weird, huh? Maybe, it's because every other time I saw that whole movie was on DVD, where as when I saw the movie on that one movie night, I was watching it online on my phone with headphones on. Or maybe, it's because I got more used to the syncing.

@@jadenmckinney5590 The VHS and DVDs actually sound better. I have Cooler's Revenge on both and I haven't had the sound issues I have with the Blu-Ray. Also, the Blu-Ray replaces Karin's line where he asks Yajirobe what's a bean daddy with a line that's out of place, yet Yajirobe responds as if the line's unchanged.

@@Gardetrace Yeah, I recorded Cooler's Revenge off of Adult Swim for the DVR, one time, and when I saw the recording, the Japanese soundtrack felt so weird to me, because I was a lot more used to the version with the American soundtrack. Ssj namek Goku was stated "officially" (at least the most plausible power level) as a 150.000.000, while 100% Freezer as a 120.000.000, only 30.000.000 of difference that could sound too few but 30.000.000 still an huge power level during the Freezer's saga. Supposed that 5th Cooler is stronger than 100% Freezer, the difference could be even few, maybe Cooler is 130.000.000, but if ssj Goku with 150.000.000 and 100% Freezer were capable to fight even equal at some point with 30.000.000 of difference, i think Goku must be stronger than Namek (not too much) and i think that the Zenkai boost theory works, so Goku should be something like 180.000.000 power level.

This film was created before the reveal of Trunks. It takes place right after the events of Namek but before the introduction of Trunks. These films are not meant to be cannon. The reason Goku was able to be on par with Cooler's 4th form is because 1.) It's stated that Goku got stronger 2.) It's clearly stated that Cooler is inferior to his brother.

No, "Saiyan" is pronounced "SIGH-yahn," exactly as it's spelled. "Saiyan" in Japanese is "Saiya-jin" (Saiya people). Think of a sai (Rafael's weapons) or Sai from Naruto. We don't call them "says," do we? If it was pronounced the way people think, it would be spelled "Seiyan." Think of the anime "Saint Seiya." Funimation's dub mispronounces "Saiyan" just like they mispronounce "Kaio-Ken." For DB Kai, they correct "Kaio-Ken's" pronunciation, but "Saiyan's" wasn't changed likely because it's so ingrained in the minds of Westerners.
