This movie tries so hard to make sure the audience has no idea what's happening that it forgot to tie everything together at the end to avoid the negatives of making sure your audience is confused the whole time. It really thinks it's doing something amazing the whole time.

@@stormrangerx Uhm, it objectively was. This movie does not deserve so many Sins. It was very good and literally avoided things that would have been a Cinema-Sin. For example, in other movies, the one woman with the dream-of-a-family would definetly have becomes obsesses and defended the evil Island and then been killed by the protagonists in self-defense. But no, she did not. This was a very good movie, though not outstanding.

Ik, like I get some of the fantasy, nick doesn't really get to be that much of a solider, but in the end, he got to be a hero and see his dad, Maloney(before she comes out as evil) fantasy was for revenge, but shes really getting clouser and forgiveness, and Gwen's family fantasy was showing her she did deserve happiness, but ya the other 2 got f*cked

And at what point did i give the impression i was afraid of the congo or anywhere else for that matter?? You bud have also serverly underestimated the precautions I've taken. As well as plans and strategies for any type of zombie cannibal infection form type apocalypse.. And any other actually while most preppers only see ( their apocalypse) happenings im ready for ANYTHING.. Save for the second half of the ice age and nuclear war. Nukes go off earth dies no point is struggling to live on a dead rock Im not a fan of -500 degree weather so i have no intention of living in those cases otherwise im good. However i am curious as to what makes you think zombies are the most horrific thing ever.. Unless they are created by satans dark magics. Im not sure what makes them so terrifying to you. Sure they are definitely something to be wary of but like anything they can be fooled and if they can be fooled they can be killed

Its a reboot of a 70s tv show "Fantasy Island" starring Ricardo Montablan and little person Herve Villechaize. Herve's signature line was yelling, "De plane! De plane!" everytime a new flight arrived bringing guests. Celeb guest stars would be the island guests that pay to live out some big fantasy that never turns out the way think it will. Sometimes it tirns into a nightmare. Each episode always ends with the guests learning some big life lesson.

I saw this in the theatre and right before the movie actually started I joked about the main antagonist being Tattoo and he just snapped one day and started killing people who come to live out their fantasies but he twists the fantasies into their worst nightmare and makes them beg for death so that, in a very sick and twisted way, he's still helping them fulfill their fantasies. Holy fuck, that is the movie I *wish* I saw!

10:51 Sloane wanting to get back with her husband might have been her fantasy/desire when she looked into the rock, but people's desires can change, especially in dramatic circumstances like the one she was in. In the face of certain death, the desire for a scenario where she has a chance of living should beat out anything else. Then again, as you've shown, the movie doesn't establish anything close to a clear set of rules, so you could really justify whatever you want here.

Great job you guys - The only thing that could've made this review better was a "rule change" counter, because there's about zero consistency in what the rules are, who's in control of them, why/how they exist, or what happens if you break them. It's like they just outlined scenes they wanted to happen, got shit faced, and started trying to connect any and all storylines before they blacked out.

no it isn't, that's why the dialogue is so cringy. teenagers are incredibly cringy and the way they talk is borderline. movies for teens are made for average kids, not weebs and kids who sit on the internet all day not actually socializing. If you had actually been around normal majority type teenage kids you'd see they do act the way movies portray them, but somehow even worse than that.

As someone who grew up watching the original tv series, your feelings of "WTF is going on!?" "WTF are the rules!?" "Is Roarke in control or completely helpless!?" makes it the most accurate adaption of the show possible. Especially after season two.
