The better movie is basically Avengers/Captain America... considering it's telling the same story of superheroes and the repercussions their heroing causes. How do you punish Gods? If they save thousands of people one day but end up accidentally killing a handful of people... what do you do? Lock them away? Ban them from being super? What happens when you need them again? How would all of that change society as a whole? I wish Hancock had more of that and less of... him just cleaning up his act and then the weird plot twist stuff.

I feel if the movie ended with the bank hostage scene, and the first half was stretched out with more character development, action scenes, and emotional moments, it would have been a great movie. Leaving Hancock's origins a mystery would be perfectly fine as it would allow audiences to interpret it in their own ways.

So funny story(to me a least). A few years ago I was watching this with a few friends, and during the whale scene my friends sister(15 years old at the time) when the whale hit the boat she yelled "Oh no, the whale" and we responded " What about the people on the boat" and she straight faced, dead serious says "The people can swim though" and we busted out laughing.

Honestly I wish they took the first two halves of the movie and made them into two different films. A fun story about a drunk superpowered asshole would've been a fun watch, but also this crazy tale of immortal beings with this crazy lose would've also been interesting if put in more detail. I feel like they were two different ideas for the movie squashed together and it just didn't sit right

This sort of thing has always bugged me. What does he think will happen if he DOES release the bombs? An enraged Hancock (who's well-known to be violent when annoyed) will torture and cripple him, and THEN take him to prison. Even if he ran away, Hancock would simply follow him until he was out of range, then cripple and imprison him. If it's a standoff, Hancock can just carry the hostages away one by one, daring the fool to detonate them. Surrendering is absolutely the best option he has.

I'd like to add 2 more sins to this. 1. When Hancock and Mary and having the big showdown and Mary makes all the twisters there is a shot of an 8 foot tall person tuning between some cars 2. When the doctors are swarming Mary in the final climactic scene she has blood covering about 1/4 of her shirt, after a cut away we see a completely clean shirt with only the bullet holes. After another cut her shirt is covered in blood again.
