You are absolutely right about these operator mods. There's no point in using them, they need to buff the melee on the knife and knife operator mods. It's abysmal how bad the melee is in this game and on the other hand just hit detection.

Knifing sucks in bo4, one bullet and bashing is way more effective

everybody does it: shooting and then meleeing. It's a bit annoying so the Strife with Operator Mod is my way to go against knife-runners. Maybe this is my favorite operator mod beside the Cordit belt.

I agree entirely, I'll admit back in the day I was as guilty as anyone else for having a commando phase, but the knifing in this game just doesnt feel right, constantly swiping a mile from your enemy, or blatantly stabbing them in the chest and not getting a kill, I actually looked forward to having a combat knife again as the last fps I really played was bo2 and it was a lot of fun on there, but on here its disappointing

I seem to notice a much greater lunge using these bayonets... Especially the vapr, as compared to the combat knife and especially the secret santa... The secret Santa seems to have a broken hit box or a broken animation and never seems to hit... I would love to see a video discussing that... Because maybe it's just me but I can't hit anybody with the secret santa

In the last cod 30-40% of my kills came from bayonet charges so im more than happy to use a bayonet in this game

Yes the 1 shot melee combo just so powerfull which kinda make knife melee the under dog.. if it was like WW2 (with how they did the knife and throwing knifes) it be fun but the hit detection is just awful on BO4. Not sure if Tyger will do a vid to counter or avoid this combo but what ive seen good players do now on pc is keeping their distance as much as possible at least outta the melee range. so for example u turn a courner and see an enermy his real close, you start back peddling with bit of strifing and firing, wait for their melee which most of the time they will do and then you have a choice to keep going back and firing or melee yourself. 9 times outta 10 then they wont be able to avoid your melee as they committed in moving forward to close the gap, and when your meleeing you also stop firing so you would be resonably safe for a short peroid of time should they miss you. its quite a good counter and really annoying one to the other person because he thought he had you. it takes practice, timing and reaction time... i still havent perfected it yet :( if they slide to close the distance it super hard to avoid. but jumping back and firing and then melee could work....

Never used a knife in bo4, hate the fact that i will have to use it to get dark matter, but i don't think its fair cause in bo4 you have 150 hp and people with knifes tend to camp or rush you in close quarters...

I loved using the baionetta in WWII but here it does look a bit flimsy. And the one shot punch combo is also very satisfying. So I totally agree with you!

I agree with most of this and the vapr does have amazing atachemebta but the knife can be insane when paired with acoustic sensor on close maps like seaside or Morocco

Yeah and I agree with the melee animation it takes way longer to knife something than to punch them or the 1 bullet combo

I agree completely with what you had to say. I just unlocked the stiletto knife for the Strife yesterday and decided to try it out today, thinking it would be super fun to shoot people at range and then knife them when they got close. I then proceeded to get a 0.05 KD.

I totally get and respect your opinion. Ive been using the bayoneton the Vapr lately and honestly find myself rarely needing to use it. Maybe once a game. The gun is so deadly that I hardly find myself in close range situation and if I do the punch combo would work just as well im sure. not worth the points.

The timing of this video is perfect. A few weeks ago I was doing the challenge for the bayonet operator mod. I said the same thing to him almost word for word. If I use 3 points I want It to be worth it. And I don't know if it's possible but I felt it gave me a smaller hit box? !...

You can use the vapr knife to control an entrance by yourself, even against multiple people.

ok to your point about shoot+punch, I do this religiously with smgs and it got my a ton of kills. But nothing replaces the kick you get from knifing someone. it doesn't feel the same you know? The knifes are a "fun class" not "try hard class". Though I admit I hate when someone in opposite team is using melee class. It's very annoying to deal with.

They should make mele slower with the knife mods but make it a "slash" like cod ww

Today alone I destroyed people knifing just with shooting and fisting it should probably be buffed. The 3 points for an operator mod is ass tho, I wanna use the Maddox with echo fire cause using semi auto reminds me of an 94 it's annoying to use 3 points

Always I see the hammer guys I tell them "This is a SHOOTER not Home Improvement but: everyone kills me with one punch! Dont know why. Even I punch first and put a few shots before, his following hit with his fist kills me! This makes me so angry that I put the knife on the VAPR.

I love knifing and do it a lot but never use the operator mods. You can have more perks and if you want something for longer distance you can use the tomahawks

I rarely get close enough to the opposing players to warrant using a knife/bayonet. If I am that close I’ve made a mistake as I like to keep my distance. It’s not worth 3 points, like you said that’s only an opinion.

I think in order to balance this out they need to nerf an aspect about the melee in bo4 multiplayer, it is way too strong in its current state when taking into perspective the changes in kill time. It takes you down to one shot, it also stuns you and has rediculous amounts of lunge. I think the best nerf they could do would be a nerf to the lunge because then you wouldn't be able to spam it so much in quick succession. Removing the flinch would effectively be a useless nerf when targeting this combo, though it would be alot less frustrating to play against. Taking down the damage would also be an effective nerf to this combo to make it take more time and bullets to pull it off. I believe one of these nerfs needs to happen because not only is it frustrating to play against, but it completely makes the knife a pointless weapon along with all of the operater mode associated with it.

I absolutely hate that a melee hit does 145 damage Imo it should be reduced to 80,so you can still get a 2 hit melee but you'll need to do 70 more damage next to it

Remove the bayonet and bring back Spectre with his Ripper. He was my favourite specialist in Black Ops 3 by far. But yes I largely agree the bayonet is piss-poor considering it requires three slots. And if you're a hardcore player it is completely useless.

The strife Operator mod is pretty good for zombies mode, but I do t find it particularly useful elsewhere. The VAPR knife is pretty pointless overall
