With Sin #7, non-nobles *were* banned from being Knights - you literally see him jump over a fence to crash the training, and the Queen decided to make an exception, kickstarting the plot. As pointed out, you can always tell when a movie is truly well made when more than half of the sins are jokes/nitpicks rather than actual flaws. Even the sins for the cliches can be debated because cliches themselves are not an issue, but rather the execution of those cliches; I doesn't matter to me how cliche a film is if they did a fantastic job telling it and gave me reasons to care about the characters. Although I do feel like they could've removed a couple more sins for the comedy in Nimona cause that shit is hilarious

@@offdogs6217It’s valid for people to say that romance can be one of the reasons why a movie is great. It all depends on execution. My girlfriend suggested we watch this one night, and I knew absolutely nothing about it, had barely even heard of it. I watched the preview bit and I’m like “Sure, looks like a light hearted/very silly animated buddy goof movie”. And then I spent the last third of the movie crying because of how god damned *hard* this movie hits. I was NOT expecting to be blindsided by one of the toughest transgender trauma metaphors I’ve ever seen. Absolutely love the movie but holy *shit* does it hurt for how relatable this is, especially in the current massive anti-trans climate. That ‘I can’t stand everyone making me into the villain no matter what I do’ is far too real right now.

To quote Jeremy in this very video “do people just believe anything without evidence” this is proof he doesn’t watch the movies and the staff don’t work together when making sins. Or he just knows his audience is dumb and will take his word for anything

As someone who read the original GN, this movie was AMAZING. It’s got a lot of similarities to the book but it’s not actually point for point. Nimona has a different backstory, the institution has different schemes, and Blackheart and Goldenloin’s relationship was much more up to interpretation, while definitely still there. But then there’s also moments ripped directly, word-for-word and pose-for-pose, from the novel, like the Monopoly scene. So good. So beautiful.

the best line in this movie that lives in my head rent free and can stay there for as long as it wants is "I don't know what's scarier. The fact that everyone in this kingdom wants to run a sword through my heart... or that sometimes I just wanna let 'em."

I've been watching Cinema Sins for yeeeears now. I've followed you since back in the "scene does not contain a lap dance" days and I just have to stop by and say it's been an absolute blast watching you mature while still having a great time. I'm in my early 30s so I get the old sense of humor and how we've gotten to where the channel is now because it's a path I also kinda followed myself in maturing. This movie is beautiful and I knew that clicking on this Sins video I'd get some great jokes while simultaneously getting the chance to hear Jeremy talk about how absolutely gorgeous it was. I was not disappointed. Thanks for your work, my dude.
