@@prochygaming2 It's like barely early access. Its good to give criticism but "dead on arrival" is such obnoxious exaggeration. There IS no arrival. It's not even finished yet.

It also needs to not be on Unreal. This engine is notoriously a pain in the fucking ass to mod for. Completely miserable experience that requires installing the game twice for your editor copy, and Unreal games tend to be bloated in size despite having very little content.

Not to mention indie devs usually rely on Blueprints instead of getting an actual programmer. So it lags really badly despite being ugly and basic looking, and they get themselves tangled up unable to add new features.

Yeah I totally agree. It's unfortunately not as easy as saying "players will come back when the bugs get ironed out"... 9 times out of 10, they don't.

No man’s sky has been the only game in recent history to do that and it took them quite a while to establish a player base.

I also like that it's so easy for modders to potentially make something great and I really hope they do, but at the same time like BigFry said in his video on it, saying that modders can fix whatever they don't like also feels like a bit of a cop-out.

Yeah I have a feeling they're going to continue working on it and smooth everything out.

It's still in it's infancy, so we'll see where it goes from here.

@@agiliteka problem is: people will jump off board very fast if the problems arent solved asap... and some of these issues, simnply shouldnt be there. Dont get me wrong, I really grant the devs, modders etc success, as said, I like the ambition behind this... but to compete or even survive in the gaming world today you need to stand out to make people look over such problems. For example, all those bugs and problems really remind me of Star Citizen, where those or similar bugs and issues can also occur. But people are willing to live with them because there is literally nothing out there, that offers the same experience. So even SC gets it rightfull and fair share of criticism, it can stand on its own, survive and strive for something completly new. In this case I don't see this uniqueness yet and Im afraid the devs pushed it out to early (for whatever reason) and there wont be much of an audience left to mod the game or play those mods and fixes (just look at Beyond the wire or people even say WW3 is dying) For that the genre is just to oversaturated.

They are on par with the build of early access Squad. Go and look how squad looked and played in their early access release. They didn't had graphics, weapon handling, animations, vehicle they have now. And As i have seen servers with 64 players doesn't have an issue. So maybe he joined a server with higher player count than 64

I make honest reviews, it's what the whole channel is founded on, and my initial experiences with the game were not good so that's what I said in the video. If I was to go easy on free indie games and come down harder on AAA titles, then before long it would be anarchy and I'd be reviewing games based entirely on who made it rather than on the game itself. And my commune were/are pushing me to find a real job so to speak, so I felt the pressure from many sides. And on the top. An misunderstanding that ware the last straw. I was woking hard to learn blender from Maya so I worked slowly. And blue did not know or remember what I was woking on, and suddenly we were 2 working on the same weapon. So to add all up, I left. But no hard feelings from done of us. And Im sure he will welcome me back if I want to, and there is a spot for me. 😊

The game was built on poor foundation from the start, and me joining wouldn't change the foundation by any positive margin. If you have any background in computer art, I can tell hair raising horror stories of assets they used in this game. They literally don't know what they are doing.

But it's not standard game. It's bare bones on purpose so people can customize servers and make totally unique games. The only real problem I have rn is jumping and hurdling stuff needs worked on. The voice chat needs fixed as well but the gameplay is solid. wait a couple of months and see how many unique shooters people have made

Totally agree! I'm a long time Battlefield 2 modder, and there are many free mods for BF2, a game from 2004, that completely blow OHD out of the water. BF2 still has, to this day, some of the best ai in a fps. OHD definitely has the worst I've ever seen. Bluedrake has brought a lot of the negative criticism on himself with his continual ott hype, and his fantasy about sticking it to the big game devs. People had huge expectations for this title, as I did myself, and the reality is insultingly bad. My prediction is that this game will probably end up as a niche title obsessed over by hardcore mil-simmers who want to make a new PR2 or ARMA. In the mean-time, the gaming world will move on.

@@Gattobuono Ooh your actually a modder for BF2??? I never really ended up playing BF2 or any of the big free mods for it, but i always heard they were great. I definitely feel like this release is showing the harsh reality to Bluedrake about releasing a game unfinished, and as you said, because of this, it will probably be quite niche. Peak playercounts per day are already reaching only 1500 players or so, so it's safe to say it's dead on arrival for a F2P game.

@@theepixplays4672 Well you really need to get yourself a copy of BF2 and start checking out the mods! You can find me on moddb BF2 section under the same user name. BF2 is relatively easy to mod, and you'll find people to help you if you ask. And the ai really is great. They drive vehicles, fly choppers and jets, repair damaged vehicles, heal or revive you, supply you and vehicles with ammo, plant C4 at objectives and in my mod they also lay anti-tank mines. Honestly, a good BF2 single player experience is better than playing online with a bunch of idiots and hackers! Hope to hear from you. 🙂

Another red flag for me is how toxic the most dedicated fans have already proven themselves to be, not just in response to my video or any of the other creators, but to anyone offering any criticism whatsoever. It is not, for sure. I have making assets for the game. And here is the thing. Its people behind that like me haven´t been so lucky to find a job in the Industry. And We have had much attention for the game could run smooth on old computers. That my bee the wrong strategy.

There was this one time they found material systems from Squad ported directly into the game. Both games are made on the same engine, so it was easy to carry one's assets to the other. They have removed the file, but it wouldn't surprise me that they still have some "inspirations" from squad.

A lot of stuff are the same, as the environment and theme is pretty much the same. But of course we be use reference from everywhere. It can Pictures, It can be from games. youtube clip, blueprints etc. Is normal. We bought few assets but only as place holders. Maybe the map designers, coders needed it. But as I remember it, It where only there for short time, and I believe it was out in the public builds, so it you have seen it, we must have missed it, then a new build was made.

​@@sharrowfelix Sorry man 😆I've answered so many weird questions and banned so many people for toxic behaviour since this video came out that I've genuinely lost all interest in it at this point. As for your question, I'm not quite sure why you're choosing those 3 games in particular to single out where there's countless more that didn't get better and faded into oblivion around the same time. The way you asked the question is pretty biased as it suggests that O:HD will become successful like those games, and not one of the many that never took off (Day of Infamy, Beyond the Wire, Days of War, WW3, Enlisted, Battalion 1944 to name a few). I played Squad in its early days when it was just a tiny map and a handful of players, and although I'm not a huge fan of Squad even today, even way back in alpha it felt solid and most of the core features were in place, with a fleshed out plan laid out by the devs going forward, which O:HD doesn't have beyond (the mods, bro!) I never played Post Scriptum until it'd been out for a year so I can't comment, but today it's still arguably a failed project, not because of the game itself since that's fantastic really, but because of the problems and lack of direction it's had throughout its development, the playerbase just lost faith in it and it, again, drifted into obscurity with less than a couple of servers full at peak time. Not a failure by any stretch, but it proves my point that players often don't return even once a game gets better. As for Hell Let Loose I started playing that at the back end of 2019 when it released in early access and there was little doubt that it was just really fun to play, it again had a solid, tangible roadmap for all to see what's in store going forward, and the amount of players it has reflects that most people liked it. All those other games I mentioned with exception to maybe Enlisted ended up failing due to just being inferior games with worse gunplay, clunky mechanics or miss-directed or unclear development, and in my humble opinion, all those games that succeeded shared something in common. They all felt solid when first released to the public, be it early access, alpha or whatever. AfterConflict is another hardcore milsim game currently in development that I've had the honor of playing before most other people and it has none of the issues that O:HD has despite being years away from release. The fundamentals are there, the game feels solid, it just lacks content. My point in this video is basically that releasing a game in a broken, janky, half finished state like O:HD that most of the community has reacted poorly to, and then trying to skate by and gloss over the issues by saying "we're waiting to see what you guys want" and "it's a modding platform, mods will fix it" or the classic "it's free" just isn't good enough to convince people that it's worth paying attention to. Maybe you disagree, maybe you're really into the whole idea and believe it could be great and that's awesome, I hope you're right because then we all benefit from it in the long run, but I, personally, my believe, my opinion, this is what I think this is not a fact believe, that it is dead on arrival because of the way it was handled. It will fade into oblivion like the other 3 games BlueDrake has on Steam already. That's my call, that's my opinion, who knows if it's right, and frankly, I don't understand why anybody cares as much as they do what I think. If it's good then I'm wrong and it'll do well, if it sucks then it'll fail for many more reasons than just because my little brain didn't get a dopamine hit from it lol. @@RedcoatViking_Official I should have been more specific. I was specifically talking about the modding part. When people say, "oh, bluedrake just want free labor from the modding scene". Well yeah. That's like what he's been saying since he announced the game. He never really boasted about the base game. He talked more about the mod potential and the mechanics than anything else. Back to the Roblox example. Barely anyone knows what the vanilla experience is. People aren't there for the vanilla experience. They are there for the experiences people make and mod into roblox. OHD is meant to be bigger than the vanilla experience. As far as everything else, sure things needs to be fixed. I see that but I was specifically talking about the modding.

Except pretty much all the roblox servers look the same fundamentally in style etc. Yes you can do different things on different servers, but you can easily tell the modded servers are roblox. Because games aren’t often entirely changed by modders. Triple-A games have the best chance of being changed to an extreme degree due to their popularity, not games like this.

And there still aren’t many mods in roblox that change the game to that level, even with such a huge community. Lets say one person made a mod that entirely changed this game, it wouldn’t be enough still. Not everyone will like the overhaul/all aspects of it. Is the Frontlines roblox mod the best game? No, it’s just one mod that makes the game look more realistic and a generic FPS. Just because there is a high modding capability, doesn’t mean it’s enough for the game to be good

The core game, which you reviewed is boring absolutely. But to review OHD in it's totality would be to look at the mods, that's the point of OHD, the core game is the definition of "meh" because the development time really went into making OHD a platform. You did mention the mod support, but breezed over it like it was a feature, not THE feature. Also, wdym "Move on with your life" man I got 5 hours on OHD, this game isn't my life. I just saw yet another dude review OHD's core game like it's the whole thing.

Being free is irrelevant if there are better options out there, paid or otherwise, and I believe in giving honest feedback, not sugar coating it just because it's free. Fair :) I didn't mention those things though because I genuinely didn't like anything about it, and I didn't think the weapon models were very nicely done. That's your opinion, why would I automatically think the same? lol. What does any of that have to do with a review of the game? It's irrelevant, which is why it's not mentioned :P I review games, not all the politics in the background.

I already know it was being made by BlueDrake and a small team and it's free etc etc... But what's that got to do with my review? This is a video based on my experience, it's honest feedback. Should everyone go easy on it just because it's free and the dev team is small? That would be biased. I just shared my thoughts after 4 hours in the game! :) About "content creators like you" being the reason it will be dead on arrival by the way? No, the game will do that to itself for all the reasons mentioned in the video. I'm just a dude with opinions like you, just I made a video about it, just like you could, and neither of our videos will have any impact on the game whatsoever. If it's good it'll float, if it's not then it'll sink, regardless of the opinions of a few KZfaq channels. I think Fortnite is a hot mess... But alass, it still has millions of players, funny that!

Dude ravenfield was made by a single person and it did 10 times better than this… they just didn’t do a good job launching the game also who launches a multiplayer game without anti cheat in it 💀
