So Darth Vader built C-3PO, and then C-3PO escapes with the Death Star plans with R2-D2 to Tatooine in Episode 4, which are used by the rebels to attack on the Death Star, in which they are ultimately successful, leaving Darth Vader to be the only survivor. Thankfully Darth Vader never stops and thinks about the connection between building C-3PO and the destruction of the Death Star, which would have been the ultimate 'bang your head against the wall' over the irony moment.

@@marcpeterson5115 not at all. Vader figured out that Luke was his son when he heard that a bunch of rebels were refering to General Skywalker of the Rebels. He put the pieces together and found out that Luke was in fact, his son. Leia, who had never used the force in her life, never showed any evidence of the force in her, and due to living with Bail on Alderaan, had the last name Organa, not Skywalker. He had no reason to believe that Leia might be his daughter. It wasn't until he intentionally searched Luke's feelings and his mind that he found out about that scene Luke had with Leia when he told her about how they were family, and thus figured out that Luke was not the only one. Vader discovered Luke was his son by seeing his strong connection to the force (as he was using it at the Death Star Destruction scene in ANH) and looking through some of the Rebels intel and finding the name Skywalker. That was how he came to the conclusion that Luke was his son. That wouldn't work for Leia, as she demonstrated no knowledge or use of the force, had the last name Organa, and even if he looked at her through the force, there would be nothing ot find, as she had no knowledge of her true heritage or that she was a Skywalker. Therefore, he wouldn't even realize that she was his daughter.

No cause same here, I was born in September 2002 and therefore I grew up watching the movies 1,2,3,4,5,6 rather than 4,5,6,1,2,3. My parents had bought the collector's edition DVD's when I was very young and I grew up loving them, except I didn't even get Return Of The Jedi on DVD until Christmas 2013. I will always love watching The Phantom Menace for that reason, even if the movie is pretty weak from a critical standpoint, it always holds a special place in my heart anyways. Plus it has my personal favorite movie score of all time. I just wish they didn't leave out the Farewell To Jira scene and didn't keep in the Jar Jar stepping in shit scene. Like, really? Was that necessary?

If the ship isn't accelerating then the only thing pulling the droids off the ship is gravity (which is not very noticeable if they're in orbit) or plasma beams. So all the really need to stick to the ship is magnets...
@PieMan061
@PieMan061 5 жыл бұрын
Meezala Mazala not quite. Even in orbit, gravity is still pretty large (the force of gravity at the ISS is still 90% that of on the ground). Plus, they were clearly not in orbit and were moving/accelerating away from the planet. Honestly just typical bad sci fi writing ignoring the “science” part.
@meezalamazala279
@meezalamazala279 5 жыл бұрын
TheEllusionist well although the force of gravity it's still largely acting on the ISS the centripetal acceleration that is required for moving in orbit caused near 0 gravity to any observer inside (even though technically there is gravity affecting them) Also this is interesting, although it appears they are flying strait forward, are orbital mechanics addressed in Star Wars, or is it possible people actually perform orbital maneuvers in the stories? Even so, with no acceleration the magnetic force the droids would have to apply would still be very little and would only have to resist earth gravitational pull at most.

@@PieMan061 It's called "Freefall," because basically there's no gravity at all, just as an elevator failure in a tall building makes the occupants lighter and the "Vomit Comet," diving from high altitude leaves the occupants weightless.
@PieMan061
@PieMan061 5 жыл бұрын
@@oldenweery7510 No, it's not called Freefall b/c there's "no gravity" it's freefall because nothing is supporting you... you always experience gravity, it's the thing that's literally making the "fall" part of freefall. And Meezala Mazala, what I just said still applies. Gravity IS STILL THERE, but to the observer, they FEEL weightless because of the orbiting (essentially they are in continuous freefall). It doesn't cause 0 gravity, gravity is still there and if they slowed down the orbit, they would fall. It's not a technicallity, it just is. And I disagree, with both the ship accelerating and the weight of the droids (meaning they have high momentum), that's a pretty significant magnetic force to generate. Not to mention we don't even know if the hull of the ships are magnetic.

@jamescoalman8928
@jamescoalman8928 5 жыл бұрын
@@anomalyinc3239 I'll counter them. However, I will preface that I myself enjoy the prequels for other reasons, that mostly being nostalgia because I grew up with them and also I like the memes. Unlike you seemingly though, I recognize their plentiful amount of severe flaws. You're right, the Phantom Menace and the prequels as a whole actually had a lot of practical effects. This a point a lot of people love to bring up when defending the prequels, however the fact that there are a lot of practical effects still doesn't change the fact that there are also a lot of visual effects and CGI. This isn't as much of problem today and in fact, most Marvel movies (which are usually very well received and make tons of money) also have tons of CGI. In the early 2000's though, CGI wasn't as advanced yet and they tried to push it further than where it was ready to be pushed, leading to some very bad looking scenes. Practical effects also existing doesn't change this fact or make the bad CGI look less bad. You're next point is complete garbage. The acting was done a certain way to reflect characters? Then they either they completely failed to reflect those characters or their characters are some of the most boring, dull, and emotionless people to ever exist (which is not a good thing and I will get to in my third paragraph). I'm going to go with the first idea (that they just failed to reflect their characters properly, AKA bad acting/direction) for several reasons. One reason is that George (with the help of Mark Hamill, Carry Fisher, and Harrison Ford all being good enough actors to survive bad direction) managed to create good, fun, emotional characters during the original trilogy. The other, is that in the Clone Wars tv show, all characters (including Anakin) vastly improve while still being written and produced by George Lucas, but directed by Dave Filoni. I already discussed your next point in my last paragraph there, however I'll once again state how even though yes, the Jedi are supposed to be stoic and emotionless, they vastly improved as characters during the Clone Wars tv shows which was, once again, still written and produced by George himself. Every decision about the show went through him. If the Jedi weren't being represented correctly there, then that would be illogical as he would be misinterpreting his own characters. And even if the Jedi are meant to be the way they are in the prequels, then maybe we just shouldn't have gotten the prequels. Movies are an entertainment medium. And one of the most important things that make a good movie is good characters. Good characters are characters that you can relate to on some level, feel for, grow to care for, are interesting, entertaining, and perhaps most importantly, feel as though they are or could be real people. Human emotion is natural and cannot just be turned off. This is a topic that is sometimes explored throughout the Clone Wars tv show and the Jedi are often shown to be slightly wrong in their philosophy and/or hypocritical. We see none of this in the prequels however, and instead get boring, awkward characters that feel so fake and fabricated, specifically and especially in what they say. For your next point, I'll agree that when Padme was queen it made sense for her to be serious and monotone. That doesn't excuse the bad acting and awful dialogue that she has in the next two movies and even in the Phantom Menace when she is disguised as one of the Queen's servants. Lastly, again, it doesn't matter why they chose to have Anakin's character be awful in the prequels. It doesn't change that fact that it's awful. There have also been plenty of examples of good awkward acting. It can be awkward without being awful and hard to watch. Peter Parker is a great example of this. Also again, the Clone Wars shows how they *could* have done Anakin's character in the prequels and how much better it *could* have been good while still being an angsty rule breaker. Never debate someone with rational, clear thinking that isn't blinded by his nostalgia for an awful trilogy. You will lose.

@@jamescoalman8928 Gotta admit you put up a better case then most Lets start with the cgi argument The only way it holds up is by ignoring the crappy cgi in the OT To deny that would be hypocritical especially since you say im blinded by nostalgia Especially since weve just established that the phantom menace and i recently found out the other 2 prequel movies used a shit ton of practical effects aswell Id also say the phantom menace is primarily a setting driven story not character driven to say star wars HAS to be character driven is crap because thats entirely up to george You can tell a story that isnt character driven and still tell it effectively Since TPM is the start of everything i think it was a good decision to focus on the world building But to say that the characters are boring and uncompelling is rubblish Some characters are designed to be static Most of the jedi were in this regard Qui gon on the other hand had a decent amoujt of depth to him He questioned the status quo followed his own moral compass saw the flaws of his own jedi order Attack ofbthe clones touches base on this woth count dooku Natalie portmans scenes with anakin i personally didnt mind in TPM you cant deny she shows a softer side and is more dynamic around anakin Anakin is a kid hes awkatd childish naive optimistic goofy basically everythibg id expect from a regular kid The argument i most common hear when i point this out is "Ahhh why did he even have to be a kid in the first place" In which case there is no argument just a matter of preference Truthfully i havent seen the clone wars and i dont like to bring them up as the prequels should stand alone and firmly believe they do Lets say i take your word for it the clone wars take place between AOTC & ROTS Well prior to the end of AOTC anakin was extremely awkward and emotional conflicted since the last girl he was friends with hed seen 10 yrs ago before essentialky living a monks life As was padme as she had spent most of her early life in public service wasnt sure how to open herself up emotionally again By the end of the movie they get married and its visible in ROTS that they are far more emotionally comfortable with one another Not to mention anakin is a war veteran by this point much more mature and different as a person We dont need to see the clone wars to fill in that gap ourselves its pretty implied As for the other jedi truthfully we dont get to see them that much in the prequels which is why they are static if there on the battlefield and people are dying perhaps they may show signs of emotion sure But how much enotion are they going to show in a council meeting? Also i never said the prequels are flawless I look at them as objectively great movies with problems here and there

If the reuploads happened whenever a video got taken down, I'd believe you, but they're scheduled. They're posted every Saturday, as the comment from CinemaSins says. I find it very hard to believe that the original video survived being on KZfaq for almost 4 years, then just happened to get taken down the day before a reupload was due. Not just the day before, but sometime late in that day, as I had watched it that same day. The intro music being removed proves nothing. The intro music would be the most likely thing in the video to trigger a copyright strike, and the video doesn't really lose anything by removing it. It's entirely possible that CinemaSins chose to remove the intro music just to support the story that the original video was taken down due to copyright. Oh, and guess what? The original video was never even taken down. It was made private. I looked on the CinemaSins reddit, found the post for the original upload of this video, and clicked on the link (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jsuId9WntaiZon0.html). If a video is taken down due to copyright, it is not made private. It either says that it's no longer available, or that it's blocked due to a copyright claim by .

"OMG, he's a human boy but he's doing something that we can do too. What does it mean?" It means Lucas can't plot to save his own life? You know, the movie would have been improved if one of the Jedi did the pod racing and Anakin just watched them race his pod. Or if they just out and out cheated. Or if during the race, they went and stole the part. Ooh, I like that last one. Lucas could have had Obi-wan do that on his own while Quigon wastes his time being "honorable".... cheating at dice. @6thwilbury2331

It is a LITTLE odd, though. If the ship is accelerating (which it might be unless we think the pilots are not burning the engines during an escape), you'd think the droids would just go flying off. And if the ship is NOT accelerating, the droids would just be weightless, which means we wouldn't see R2D2 rolling down an incline as shown. No, I've always chalked it up to some sort of magnetic force or something. It keeps their feet/wheels bound to the surface regardless of the craft's acceleration. Of course, this doesn't explain the fact that each ship, planet, moon and Death Star each somehow has a pull of gravity precisely like Earth's.

the very first Star Wars movie released in 1977 was charming, simple, and fun and had lots of good action. this one is a complicated chore with no lovable characters and loses audience interest within 10 minutes. As soon as this franchise began taking itself so seriously, the fun was over. it's as if Spongebob cartoons switched over to analyzing MacNeil/Lehrer topics.

You know the most amazing thing about the prequals. The music. The music is able to set the tone of a scene and tell you what you should be feeling despite the script, acting, story, and overused cgi utterly failing to do so.
