I think one of the things the duffer brothers nailed was the mental deterioration of Jonathan and Joyce. It’s actually heartbreaking to see these characters slowly deteriorate mentally and physically.

I’m only 11 minutes into this video and already Joyce has been ragged on several times. I really think the Sims team missed the point of her character. Every scene, including the ‘frazzled mum buys a new phone and asks for an advance’ scene, adds depth to her character. She is probably the best and most empathetic character in S1. Without her slowly unravelling over the loss of her son, we would only have the friends trying to find Will in a more detached way. We NEED her to empathise with and every scene is KEY.

To be fair cinema sins were very positive of Winona's acting ability. She's playing Joyce extremely well which is why she's annoying the viewers.

I was born November 9th 1983 and what I loved so much about this show was how perfectly the set designer captured what my early childhood looked like. For whatever weird reason i have always had really strong memories of my youth. My mom didn't believe me until I drew out the full layout of the house we moved from when I was not quite 4, back in the mid 90s before Zillow put all that info out at your finger tips

I’m from Indiana, and the logo that you’re sinning is the Indiana state flag. Ronald and Donald Duffer did their research on that.

now that vecna was confirmed to exist during season 1, it makes sense that will probably didnt shoot before he was attacked. there are chances that will was actually facing vecna, since he wasnt eaten [like what the demogorgon does to its victims] and just brought to the upside down. when anyone faces vecna they often are unable to fight back er even move- and since his gun shows back up on the rack after he disappears we can assume he didnt actually pick up the gun and was just in a vecna-induced trance. hwoever thats just a theory

also fun fact, clock noises can be heard when will abandons his bike and starts getting stalked by the demogorgon/vecna [idk which one it was, we never actually get to SEE who it was.] which is.. yknow, a vecna thing before you end up in a vecna trance

Here’s another sin! At 56:00 Nancy shoots the 6 bullet per round revolver, 9 times in a row. However. It would be twelve seeing as how earlier in the episode, she shoots at it 3 times! I’m pretty sure revolvers don’t carry 12 bullets in one loading of the gun, but this is stranger things, it’s only good writing by Mohammed and Demetrius Duffer.

First time through watching the show I thought Jonathan running into the party was unlikely but it makes sense since it’s established that both the place the party is and Jonathan’s place are close to the lab. That is later proven by the monster being there for Nancy to see. The real sin is why Jonathan’s house that is basically a shake in the woods, would be close to the very expensive nice neighborhood that the party happened.

Note about the boots: tyvex suits can have over-the-foot pants, so the boots are just for traction and to keep anything from penetrating the tyvex on the soles of the feet.

1. The Hughes Brothers. 2. Peanut M&Ms have protein in them, from the peanuts. 3. Calling everyone by their full name is an homage to Stephen King stories where everyone does that for some reason. 4. The light bulbs have great Will timing. 5. Modine hair = Cronenberg hair. 6. "the smallest slithers of information". 7. I didn't know what a "DuckDuckGo" was, so I had to AskJeeves. 8. Calling attention to the black void with wet floor without mentioning "Under The Skin" (2013). 8. 100 sins for not sinning the "person with mental powers gets a nosebleed every time they use them, and then doesn't immediately wipe off the blood but leaves it there for cinematic effect" cliché. 9. 100 sins off for the perfectly-timed "Nightmare On Elm Street" outtake.

Nerd alert, but if you play D&D enough, you know that shadowfel is near exactly the same for that description to link. They still are wrong about the composition of the dimension, but it is close enough in similarity to make the connection pretty easily.

Having maintained a CPR certification in the 1980s, your comment on the ratio of compressions to breaths is incorrect. It was 15:2 for one rescuer, or 5:1 for two. This didn't change until at least the mid-90s. Ah, you kids.

I work in a chemical plant, and the answer for why they duct taped sealed their gloves to their suits and not the boots, is because those suits completely cover their feet, like footie pajamas, so duct tape isn't necessary on the boots. That is also why they are tucked into the boots.

When I was at school, I used to frequently skip class and chill with the guitar teacher in the music department. All of my teachers knew I was doing this, and nobody cared or punished me. So I accept that it's possible the teachers at their school don't mind them spending time on AV, because the teachers acknowledge that it's their passion and can also lead to a future career

Stranger things season 1 will always hold a special place for me- I remember watching it while I was pregnant with my son and it was a small moment of distraction from all the nausea and vomiting. I’d turn off all the lights and watch it to fall asleep. Best sleep I ever got!

Microfiche was real. Before the internet that's where you had to go to if you wanted to see old timey newspapers no longer in print. It was located on the second floor of the library in my hometown of Columbus Ohio the main library but now a bunch of computer sit where it wants set.

Mike said it in one episode about the radios but he and Lucas are neighbors that’s why he didn’t have to pull the antenna out all the way. In Season 4 you see Dustin’s pulled out all the way when he’s trying to connect to Nancy and Robin at Pennhurst.

Many hazmat and tyvek suits have feet like kids pajamas. So you don't really need to tape your boots to avoid being contaminated. You could still tape around the top of them so that your boots don't have the possibility of holding contaminants after you remove them. But since the suit is one piece except for the wrists and neck you can't tape them on the outside of your boots.

Number 8, I think that because Vecna was behind all that, and they already have it planned, maybe Vecna was opening the lock using telekenetic abilities, from the upside down.

I actually had a theory there was more demogorgons! If you look at the one that got barb it's CLEARLY taller The one the went after Nancy in the forest was muscular! And the one that we get the most of is tall but not as tall and super skinny

it’s kinda canon that they initially think the demogorgon is like the only enemy but turns out it’s like a common monster in the upside down so your theory is most likely correct

@@tictac2365 in the first season there's only one demogorgon because when it dies no other demogorgon appears after, unless that isn't what you meant
