It's also the most down to earth and artistic out of the teen movies, yes it has Apatows crass un PC humour, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldbergs creativity, but it's Greg Motolas emotional and low fi instrumentation that sells it, check out Adventureland by him if you haven't

This movie came out the summer after I graduated high school and I remember being at a house party where somebody put it on. It was more or less just running in the background, but every now and again I'd hear something hilarious and try to watch it for a few minutes. So once everyone else at the party had passed out, I restarted this and watched the whole thing, lol. I said this in a commentary for the Step Brothers video: The Cinema Sins gimmick falls completely to the ground when used on a self aware comedy - especially a universally loved comedy like this. It just becomes Jeremy bitterly trying to be funny on top on something that's already funny. It's putting a hat on a hat
