You have mentioned before to us that you have kinda 'grown out of' chasing world records for prestige, so it makes sense that the randomizer is rubbing you the wrong way. Its kinda the year 20XX meme, where everyone is so skilled, so winners are just determined by RPS.

I’m not a speed runner or a competitive gamer but I have been watching your content for a while because I love SOTN- also I appreciate your take on the issues because it’s representative of your career and passion for the game. GGs - I agree that competitive races should be based on skill more than luck. But with randomizer, there is always going to be some luck aspect, but hard to find that balance.

I wonder if a randomizer race where the competitors are just told where relics are can work? That sounds like a way to remove the whole gambling thing.

I always forget which preset has which geometry changes, as cool as they are.

People need time stop making presets and racing them. At this point, it’s being done out of boredom. It feels like we just had lots of presets that were great to race and now it’s every new preset that comes out is absolute garbage for it. I’m talking strictly about racing them. They’re fine to play, but to race is abysmal. Like you said, “lmao random.” It doesn’t make for good content

As an outsider that's just now starting to play randomizer I can understand the appeal of these new presets. You can race them without having invested ton of hours (that many people don't have) and still have a chance to win if you guess correctly. For a casual competition and for bringing new people that's great. But it also feels bad if you're trying to have a real competition and people who invest more time in the game can lose to people playing a couple of hours a week just because they got lucky. There's nothing wrong with casual races and tournaments, but I understand why you wouldn't feel good with these presets. In the end, it's all up to the community, if most people just want to have casual competion and enjoy these presets that's where the community will head.

Go all Rocky and just train and then create a video which is a montage of your training sessions. Although most people hate things I like hence why nobody really sees training montages outside of Rocky just like nobody will adopt creating portmanteaus or just cheering for a good sport match instead of being rabid fans of a particular team

You already admitted that it's not the same as speedrunning the game. Admit that you should start doing your homework. Read patchnotes before running seed, check for tracker updates and 90% of your complaints will be solved

He finally understood randomizers (which are more like rom hacks nowadays) require different skill so I hope we can stop listening to how much he is god tier and above everyone else in SOTN and move on to focus on simply complaining about his losses

I'm sure you're right about skill and randomizer rng crap but it makes you sound like a sore loser. It's hard to listen to after a while cause you just keep complaining when you know it's a big rng fest anyway. So maybe you just need a different approach. Organize more fair tournaments with someone cause if ya want something done right, ... you know
