The Matrix Resurrections was highly anticipated and I think some people love it, but they don't live here. I can only see the sins.
Thursday: Sports sins from the aughts.

oh I figured he turned it down because he didn't want to be part of such a train wreck of a sequel/"reboot". Keanu Reeves on the other hand is kinda stuck as Neo otherwise it would definitely fail if they tried to replace him.

When they had the scene talking about the machines having their own civil war and some machines siding with the humans and conflicting feelings between the humans all I could consider is that would have been a much more interesting movie.

That's actually what I always thought a Matrix sequel would be about. The way the third one left off made it kinda clear that the humans and the machines were gonna have to come together in the new world and instead they went in this direction.

The worst thing for me, being a person with only a mild interest in this franchise, was the beginning when Bugs dodges all of their bullets in the street. She had like 15 guys (I think) all shooting repeatedly at her while she ran away in a straight line, and none of them hit, not even once. Immediately set the tone that this was going to be a bad movie.

Yeah, in the first movie Neo can literally doge bullets and even he got hit. Probably my favourite part of the movie was when in the matrix Trinity just said fuck it to her kids and went with Neo before she truly believed or even understood his story. What was the point? Well, according to the Wachowski who made The Matrix Resurrections, the movie was made as an attempt to take back the term "red-pilled". Apparently, the Wachowski didn't like that those who disagreed with Democrats were saying that people who have been turning away from the Democratic Party have been red-pilled. Yes, this whole movie was made for political reasons. But that's Hollywood these days. They spend a lot of money to push their agendas. In this case, they wanted people to associate "red-pilled" with whatever agenda they were pushing in the movie.

I LOVE the Matrix (who doesn't), and the 2nd was okay, with the 3rd being manageable IMO (all because of those bada** fight scenes.) However when I heard that a 4th was being made I automatically knew it was gonna suck (mainly due to the fact of seeing a downward progression of the series with each new movie) and I was ABSOLUTELY right. My father and I rented it and made it a hour and a half into the movie before we both agreed this shit sucked. The fight scenes sucked, there was WAY too much exposition, the story was dogshit, and most importantly it was mind numbingly BORING!! Plus the fact that Morpheus AND Smith were both two totally new characters (both in story sense and actor choice [which I hated because neither captured the essence of the character(s) they were supposed to be portraying]) really made me instantly dislike it.

I think the movie had very imaginative concepts. The start of the movie, with the mind bending "questioning what is real" presentation is fantastic, and the whole movie should've been like that. It goes downhill when they try to cram it into the generic action movie formula. I feel like this movie should have had almost no action scenes, and a happy ending similar to Total Recall, where you have to make your own mind about what is real and what is not. But, alas.

@0skuro
@0skuro 2 жыл бұрын
@@mrsam0496 I have to disagree. The Matrix was great because of the balance of all its elements (action, mind bending setting, philosophical concepts, social critique, characters, drama), not just the action. The sequels, if you remember, amped up a couple of those elements (namely the action and the philosophical nonsense) and they felt weaker (bland characters, less intriguing setting, unclear motivations, uninteresting drama), in my opinion because they were unbalanced. Don't minsunderstand me, I would've loved to get awesome action in this latest movie, but, in retrospect, seeing how the action feels tacked on, I would've preferred they focused on the other aspects that did work. From what I've read, I'm not the only one who feels that the movie was intriguing at first, with the whole "was the entire matrix just in Thomas Anderson's head?" concept, and it kind of goes downhill when they rescue him and the "action" begins.

About fire sprinklers. There not 'heat based' capsules. They are small glass vials filled with water that will burst when heated. When it bursts, a piston holding the water in the pipe gets released. Once the pressure in the line drops, all of the other glass vials can easily fall out. In most cases the entire branch, and often the entire system will go once a single vial is broken.

I never thought I would say it, but this movie makes Reloaded and Revolutions seem 100 times better in hindsight. At least those movies followed a consistent plot that isn't contradicting itself midstream. I does make me think Lana must have wanted to intentionally sabotage any potential for sequels by making this one just irrecoverably bad. Now, any sequel will have to do heavy lifting to erase that this movie ever existed, similar to what the Terminator franchise has to do ever 5 or 10 years.

Was still bad though, I mean I only watched it like a month ago and I can barely remember any of it, hell I can't even remember all the scenes shown in this video. I’ve done therapy and while the thought of it is exhausting it is still very helpful. My exhaustion is more in line with having to speak to someone, but as I am in therapy the exhaustion goes away and I feel overall better. And if the exhaustion doesn’t go away then I see it as a good thing because I got a lot of stuff off my chest, and then I go home and either take a nap or I sleep REALLY well that night. In other words. If you feel like you need help then please try therapy. It helps a lot more than what most media shows and most offices will allow remote appointments if it is needed. And if you feel like it isn’t helping after a few visits then don’t just stop going. You will want to talk to them and let them know, and they might try to change things up or recommend that you see another therapist. The ultimate goal of therapy is to make sure that you feel better mentally. So again if you feel like you need help then please seek help

Can't blame Fishburne and Weaving for not being in this movie when it is such a blatant piece of crap I don't understand why they would undo the end of the trilogy when there is a perfectly good prequel world to develop. The story of the first One and the Oracle origin could be awesome. His tragic end and the tenuous detente upon his sacrifice are already written and there are so many ways you could fill in the rest. Make it about sacrificing for a world you don't belong in. Make it about the perils of giving too much power to one person, benevolent or not. Use the trope of finally finding "his" people only to have them be used against him. Make him a sympathetic incel who falls in love with an Oracle who does love him but just not that way because she's gay. Make him an antihero only to have the Oracle be the true hero in the end: the one who learns of her power to outwit the Architect in some heist film like fashion. It's so easy to come up with ideas for the world of the Matrix. It just amazes me that this was the garbage they came up with

The meeting scenes were one of the things I really identified with lol. I have to sit in so many meetings, filled with the same people, saying the same thing, in an endless masturbatory circle that I wish it was just me being rebooted lol. Even when some dickhead (me) states that we are saying the same thing and action, rather than further meetings, is what's needed; the meetings continue until everything comes to an action less halt (almost like this movie).

Exactly one week ago I terminated my contract with the institution I've worked at for 8 years for a number of reasons - not least for the endless, pointless, repetitive meetings. I feel like they exist to either weed out the independent thinkers or to crush them into conformity. Either way, despite the fact I now have no income, I haven't felt this free in a long time.

@@danknfrshtv Good for you! Hopefully find a better job soon. At the school newspaper where I work, we have these once a week meetings that I only zoom in on because they're absolutely pointless. There's nothing we do in them that can't be said on the message board. I think it's part of an outreach thing so it seems like we're staying "communicative" and "on track" but it's just a waste of time.

@@Ayeayecaptain667 I hear you. Since covid, the meetings have been given a new meaning - as you state - as 'outreach'. But in a world that already has too many meetings, adding more meetings feels counter-intuitive and entirely impractical. I think a lot of us are in the same boat rn. Friends of mine across a range of industries are suffering from 'meeting fatigue', but the execs insist that it's way to go... So, go I did!

To me the meeting scenes played like a bad SNL skit.

@@faz1483 that's kinda what we're saying. If you've spent years in meeting like those, then they become pretty much like you just described.

Actually when Neo was hitting everyone with those force fields I was recalling Street Fighter..."sonic BOOM!!!" Maybe a missed opportunity for the closing spoofs.
