Thanks for sharing. I am looking for off-road run/bike clothes that are NOT tight-fitting i.e. a trail running short with some padding for the MTB. Would you know of brands that offer such products?

Band, nice but not really needed. Calisthenics can do the same thing as the band. As far as the hat goes, that's purely personal preference. If you don't like having anything on your head when you run, don't feel like you have to wear one. It really won't make your run any faster or slower either way.

Agreed Traildog! A proper warm up can be done with calisthenics in all 3 planes of motion. The band has become essential for me due to overuse injuries in the sagittal plan. A few years back my PT recommended I use the band with movements like squats and bridges (and during my warm ups) because the added tension of the band activates/strengthens your lateral/stabilizing muscles in the glutes, hips, knees and thus helps prevent injury, and it has really helped! After having that helmet on the bike some triathletes definitely don't want anything on their head during the run :) Totally personal preference (I use a hat/visor keep keep the sun and sweat out of my eyes). I didn't mention wearing a headband which is also an option so try them out and whatever your'e most comfortable with is what will make you faster on the run. Thank you for taking the time to comment Traildog!
