Ashes of creation is really my last hope for mmos. Especially because it's highly focused on player interaction and is not another online single player game

I was going to recommend OSRS until I reached the end of your comment lol. Yeah OSRS is exactly that, a single player online game. In a nutshell you just go around doing content by yourself and you flex to others in the game your dedication to the game by wearing prestigious things, assuming your an iron anyway. If you're a regular account in RuneScape gear etc means nothing because you can just buy bonds and p2w everything.

Have you played everquest? It was the first MMO that focused on player interaction. You can play project 1999 (Original Everquest) for free.

@@Syrena-rf6qw Alpha 2 is releasing this year, and then beta 1 and beta 2 are coming before release, based on the fact that alpha 1 was on 2021 i'm going to say that it would be easily dropping in 2027, 2028 or even 2029... Yeah, a lot of time sadly xD

Do you all think alpha 2 will be compatible with PRAYDOG UEVR INJECTOR MOD as games developed with the Unreal Engine can be compatible with this virtual reality pc mod? Might make parts of the game's experiences, for me, more enjoyable if I'm able to optionally experience some of them in VR

Timed shield blocking, timed dodging. Would be great in an MMO for fun action gameplay. With a stamina meter.

Like i said, the player character movement needs to be improved. The back walk should have significantly lower speed than forward. Similar case for running diagonally should be a little less than running straight. This makes strafing and turning around and running more impactful. Also the animation from movement to a stop needs to be shown physically by player leaning forward, slight flail and then stop. Similar case for stop to movement should be a windup of character. I hate to bring it up but gw2 does an amazing job with this. Every movement has windup to it. Small race's player have to do a flip to jump and they flail their hand around if they go from running to a stop etc. I think ashes should have at least that kind of standard for animations because it gives the races a lot of flavour because each race moves a bit differently animation wise but are exactly the same speed and performance wise, only the look is different.

I really hope AoC does well, but im highly skeptical. Pvp seems too sporadic and not well developed. Pve being partially hindered by pvp will turn off a lot of players. Unfortunately, i see a well made game with horrible basic fundamental game design.
