What are you favorite Ceramide containing products? Or do you don't use them?

My favourite is Innisfree Derma Formula Green Tea Probiotics Cream. It contains pseudoceramides. Amore Pacific has a patent on the pseudoceramides and they are easier to formulate with, so the product is very lightweight

Hi Dr Anne as someone with both rosacea and eczema ceramides seem to be somewhat helpful on my skin - or at least some of my favourite products contain them lol. Cereve doesn't work for me and causes burning/stinging, but other brands do make products with ceramides eg paula's choice. The clinical ultra rich moisturiser is a cold weather staple for my skin and it contains ceramides. I have also added in their omega serum just now, as my skin has been rebelling against the cold, wet and windy weather we've been having (as well as the central heating being back on). Ceramides are available in many affordable brands also and this is increasing due to the popularity of these ingredients. I can't say ceramides are the one thing that helps my skin, but in conjunction with other NMF's they do seem to be beneficial for me. At 50 i'm probably even more deficient in them than I was with my younger eczema prone skin, so they're unlikely to be doing my skin any harm applied topically. Best wishes.

It is really good that they are more widely available now, as that makes it easier to experiment with them without having to buy a dedicated expensive product. It is only slowly getting colder here, so far it has been really humid and windy, which is a weather my skin seems to enjoy. Especially the humidity.

As I formulate my own products, I love jojoba and grapeseed oil. Both are high in ceramide content and will not break out skin. For my day cream I use both at 4% and in my night cream a bit higher because then I don't need to follow up with an SPF and it doesn't mater as much if my skin looks a bit more shiny from the lipids :D

Great video and great topic! My skin has changed from oily to mixed or normal to dry, with my U zone being a bit more dry than my T zone. This is the result of using tretinoin and also the seasonal change to colder weather. At this time of the year I do enjoy some higher lipid containing creams. Currently I'm using a day cream with jojoba an grapeseed oil, which contain approx. 96% and 73% ceramides. It goes perfectly under my La Roche Anthelios Oil Control SPF50+ without making it too greasy. In my night cream I use a cream with jojoba complemented with rosehip and seabuckthorn. The latter don't have as much ceramides I think. But I would say ceramides are kind of essential to my skin care routine! I also used CeraVe AM Facial SPF30 for a while which has those 3 'essential' ceramides. I loved this formula (in theory) because it contains B3 and the SPF as well, but unfortunately it made my skin very irritated after a couple of uses (very stinging and tight sensation). I am suspecting that it was because of the organic sunscreen filters. As for supplementation, I'm trying to get the most I can out of a balanced diet. I think otherwise healthy people can get more from direct nutrition instead of supplementation. But I'm also not a dietitian so can't really say anything about that :D

I have the same approach, I don't take any supplements on a regular - sometimes fish oil capsules or magnesium, the latter against muscle cramps. But even those I keep forgetting.

I am allergic to metals, especially nickel but also copper. I would like to know if copper as a skincare ingredient can make me react. Something makes me trigger dermatitis, especially around the eyes, and I can't figure out what, could copper peptides, copper Gluconate (LRP Cicaplast Baume B5 has it) and other coppers do that to me? so desperate! Thank you for so much help I already had from you Best regards Cristina
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne Жыл бұрын
The copper ions in skincare like copper peptides are bound inside the molecule, so it might be that you don't react to them. That doesn't mean a reaction isn't possible though, the best way would probably to patch test the products before using them around the eyes. And if you get dermatitis around the eyes, stopping them until that is healed and then maybe introducing one in after patch testing to see if it is the culprit could work. To be sure, seeing a doctor that could run some tests would be the best way.

Hi Dr Anne, this isn’t about yr video, but I’d like yr opinion on using prescription Tret and facial fat lose, what do you think I’m thinking of stopping this product at least the prescription one is there one you prefer or do you think this information I’ve come across us wrong

Hi Dr Anne , yes I am worried about fat lose in the face , I’ve only just heard this & it was about using retinol & that prescription Tret was more likely to be the one that would do this, I was wondering what your thoughts were as my face can’t afford to lose any fat Thankyou Kay

@@kaysurawski2941 Well, I have been on prescription Tretinoin for my acne for several years and I assure you my face is as plump as ever. I don't understand why retinoids shold cause fat loss in the first place. But prescription Tret is a drug you use for a reason - I use mine for adult acne - so if you don't need the drug, use a retinol product.

Dear Anne, I have atopic dermatitis, that I spotted recently, and one dermatologist online actually told me (I have PCOS, was on Roaccutane, had septum deviation operated in 2019, and before that visited few ORL and numerous dermatologist). I have that Danny Morgan lines, and I have found first under my right eye in my photo of 3 yr old! I would like if you could address this issue, and what would be the best ceramics, I have LIpikar recommendation, but not sure, anyhow, it could be great if more doctors speak about this as those wrinkles won't go away due to anti age care or botox, andI noticed significant number of people have this, more then one imagine.

Thank you for sharing your story. The three "essential ceramides" I mention in the video are the ones malfunctioning in skin with atopic eczema, so skincare including those might be helpful. I can't give individual medical advice on here though, so it would be best to talk about your concerns with a dermatologist you can see in person.

@@DoctorAnne Yes, but I would like you to elaborate more or make new video on atopic dermatitis and good skincare, for instance, you have mentioned dr Jart, and IMO, is a really bad choice due to dozen of extracts and oils that are meant to be in garden or on table. It causes allergic contact dermatits, so I would always prefer less ingredients like shea butter, niacinamide, some ceramics, I prefer La Roche, Avene.

@@DoctorAnne Many thanks. I do loved your Geek and Gorgeous vit C video, it helped me a lot. I think there is a big confusion there. Also, I love Avene Xeracalm. My favourite. Some doctors suggested Lipikar, I am not that fan of La Roche as Avene. Also, in Europe I could not find Double Repair Moisturiser. But of Avene, even their basic Cold Cream helps me. Also, I am not fan od dr.Jart due to all this oil additions, so unnecessary to the point that ruined product, and it could be great option without that. Also, would be great if you could add something about Dennie Morgan line treatment. I among 35, and I get intermittent puffiness, and from 7 to 12 I look like I have two different eyes, due to collagen break that is from inflammation, very different, to the point that with puffiness in my right eyelid, it looks twice as big.
