What does snakker mean ? In low German we have the word snakken/ snakjen/ snaaken (depending on the dialect) and it means to talk

Yeah I don't think that will work with Finnish, it's so far removed from English that it's in neither the Romance or Germanic language families. It's in a whole group of its own.

In terms of easiest to learn for native English speakers, Norsk (Norwegian) and Nederlands (Dutch) are the closest to English and should be one of the first you learn. Next is Français (french) since English is a mix of Old English and Old French. You could also follow French with Spanish then Italian. Just follow the language tree and you can know like 5 languages in the matter of a few years

Finnish is not related to germanic languages. In fact, it’s not even an indo-european language. Languages as different as Spanish, Icelandic, Russian and Persian are related, while Finnish is not.

You can't. It's a written language, but there are dialects that are very similar to how you'd write bokmål!

Dessverre så snakket hun ikke riktig nordnorsk da. Hun hadde tydeligen bodd i Oslo i ett tag, eller skjulte sin dialekt for en eller annen grunn.
