Dear Philip, I am one of your serious advocates and watched almost more than 60% of the brilliant quant videos till now and have a plan to finish all! And do not know how to be thankful because of these notes you share. But only I have some suggestions after watching all of these golden videos: 1. In some questions you finally do not clarify what is the final answer! (so rare but it happened) 2. The colors that you use like blue in the background and green for questions can be better with more contrast like white and black! 3. Instead of an explanation of something in mathematic questions, for example, you can simply have an electronic pen and write on the screen of the tablet and it would be recorded. It just makes everything more clear and also saves time. We all would be students of different universities around the world and won't forget who helped us in this long and hard journey. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS TO MAKE THIS EASIER!

Hi Philip! For the last question, it would be much easier if we took the distance to be 100m. Since there are percentages involved p% and (100-p)% would just be p and 100-p making the entire calculation significantly quicker. Love your videos btw

I doubt you will read this, however, I'd like to point out that the last exercise is not clearly formulated. Stating that p% of the race has been run at 6 m/s does (in my opinion) not imply that the p is in respect to the total distance. I assumed it was in the context of the time, that the runner ran p of the total time at 6 m/s. This obviously does not have a major influence on how the exercise needs to be solved (even though I preferred the algebraic way over picking numbers), however, it leads to different results, and in a test to potentially zero points and wasted time. I, therefore, believe that this exercise is not ideally formulated and leads to unnecessary confusion. On another note, thank you very much for providing us with such great work and insight about the GRE, highly appreciated.

Question about the question at minute 45:00 : If we were to plug 30 minutes into each respective DRT equation, it looks like in 30 minutes train 'x' would travel 70 miles & train 'y' 50 miles: This is only a difference in distance of 20 miles (not 30 miles)?

Alternatively, you can also take time to walk to be x, so the other time is x - 2.25/60. Then find distance for both and equal them to find x. Then multiply x by 12 to get the distance.

Hi Philip!, Your videos are really great, very easy to understand and concepts are delivered without the need for remembering the formulas, for the second question( example 2.7.6) , i was thinking it would take less time to solve if we just compare the product of speed and time(since both travelled same distance)
@814Lost
@814Lost 14 күн бұрын
Your techniques are great but the visuals need some adjusting. The speed formula font size is way too big for the screen space and then when you solve the problem, the numbers are all crammed in the minimal space on the screen. Pls consider adjusting some font size so the most important details are more prevalent when you're solving the problem. Also can't use Closed Captions (CC) because the CC text gets placed over the numbers being used to solve the problem. The screen ends up looking over cramped and noisy.

@@pepaxxxsvinka3379 It is actually still wrong. Martha would do 3.5*6 = 21 km (6 to 9.30 is 3.5 hrs) and Saad would do 3*8 = 24 km (6.30 to 9.30 is 3 hrs). So at 9.30 the difference is 24 -21 = 3km which is exactly 5 laps (5*600 m = 3000 m = 3km) 🙂

The answer you have mentioned as 200-p/10 is just the total time. In your case you would have got it as 200-p/50. So distance/time is 12/200-p/50 which would result in final answer of average speed as 600/200-p
