The Feywild is a confusing place in D&D, and like anything Fey in DnD, there's much to learn and much to know, so let's get into it!
Go check out Wild Earth Dice : The Liquid Core Collection! www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
These incredible liquid core sharp dice sets are inspired by the different environments your D&D party is likely to encounter in their campaign, including the feywild! The campaign is still live and has been fully founded, so it's now or never, go see if anything catches your fancy!
Thank you to ‪@DungeonDad‬ for his cameo and his amazing creature, go check out his channel

I read a book once where the author demonstrated the "blue & orange" morality. The party leader stepped forward and offered himself as a sacrifice in order to protect the group. He is immediately rejected and the fey was unhappy with the offer because now that person was off limits. So, logically the a*shat of the group copied and offered herself as sacrifice. Here the fey finally smiled and the sacrifice was accepted. When the sh*tforbrains questioned this and tried to bargain for her life the Fey answered. "Oh there are rules, just because you are not aware of them doesn't mean they don't exist." In essence it's about intent. The leader wanted to shield the rest and his offer was selfless, so it's morally wrong to take him up on it. The other person only wanted to save themselves, they are up for grabs and since they offered it can be taken literally.

Very interesting, but how is that "orange and blue" morality? "Orange" and "blue" are moral standpoints that humans literally cannot comprehend. Selflessness and selfishness are things that humans understand, and many humans would have judged.

@@95DarkFire Because the reasoning is left to the reader with other Fey also acting in a contrary way. A person who is self sacrificing is left alone, a person who clings to life is almost always the first to be pranked or scared out of their mind. It is never stated clearly but there was an odd logic behind their action that is only clear to the reader not the characters.

One of my favorite descriptions of the feywild and it’s relationship to the material plane and shadowfell is that the feywild represents mania and shadowfell represents depression. Mania meaning extreme and heightened emotion, and depression being dulled emotion. So the fey seem extreme, being more wild and colorful. So when they are joyous or humorous it’s heightened, or sad or angry it’s also heightened. The feywild reflects that concept. And just like our emotions can seem hard to understand, the emotions of the fey are that much more foreign to us

It's funny, I was playing with a friend and he didn't know about how heavily magic the fey wild was, and he tried to cast detect magic and rolled a Nat 20. In an instant he had flown back 30 feet and his eyes were flooded with light and his ears were ringing. The look on his face was priceless 😂

I like to run the shadowfell like Tel'aran'rhiod from the Wheel of Time series, where the world is a constantly changing mirror of the Material one, and little floating lights represent people in the Material who are dreaming. One idea I had for Fey Crossroads, inspired by a french graphic novel series, is that each crossroad can only ever be used by non-Fey ONCE, so returning to the Feywild requires finding an entirely new Crossroad each time. And they rarely end up in the same spot in the Feywild, so good luck if you wanna make frequent trips to the Feywild.

Fresh off finishing your adventure, it was AMAZING. The vibes, the story, everything was so well put together, and the players are still discussing the ending, debating whether or not they made the right decisions. One of them stayed to study Fey, another one took his relative and left the group, and the last two failed to convince either Renata or the Queen, and the girl chose to join her friend in dreaming. This was an awesome adventure. For the moral choice, it depends on which character I am playing. A fun thought I have used for the Seelie/Unseelie, feel free to play with. At one point in the Realm of Fairy, there was only one court lead by a powerful Archfey. He had two daughters, Mabd and Titania. This fae knew he was nearing the end of his life so he decided to divide his powerful kingdom to his two powerful daughters, but how to decided who gets what? This is when a weird twist happened. Titania married Oberon. The Fae-king saw that she was happy and married. He felt that she had a better chance to continue the duties as a ruler of Fairy. So he let her choose first. Mabd saw this as favoritism and was annoyed because her sister picked the best parts for herself. When the Fae-king died and the realm divided, this is what started the conflict between the two courts. Neither is inherently good, neither is inherently evil. Yes it does make a bit more work for the DM but it makes the realm of Fairy a more fleshed out realm and gives it MORE to be.

Dude. That. Was. AWESOME! A full adventure. Multiple magic creatures. A hilarious trap/puzzle. And a crossover with dungeon dad. Plus the familiar was kinda cool I guess.

2:35 You absolutely missed the opportunity to say that the feywild was the Fairy Bread of planes. It's a real Australian desert that exists.

This was amazing! Thank you so much for doing so much for us! Your material literally helps me become a better DM who questions their own assumptions and habits. Your homebrew Contant also is always so incredibly helpful! I was just helping a new player create their second character, who is a Ranger hunting Fey so this works out a little too well for me!

Congrats Antonio! And damn, that was a lot of work, go rest and be sure not to be taken by some mischievous fey, keep some cold iron at hand just in case... I´m a huge fan of the fey in most of their incarnations and I really think you nailed the vibe an adventure about them is supposed to feel like, bravo. Also, still feels weird yet awesome seeing such familiar places like at the start of the video owo
