Now I understand the fear and concerns of Xenoblade fans.

Xenosaga III has some hidden things extremely related to all of Xenoblade 3 if you start the game back over and really pay attention to Shion wearing a suit that has the ouroboros logos all over it and then you get to a cypher challenge with each of the colors of zohar that are featured in the base game and Future redeemed. One of the first topics (featured from the radio) are relevant to the current time line of 3 also if you actually remember that part and paid attention. I'm really thinking that they finally got the green light to jump back in where they wanted to with the series given how heavily detailed they went into branching it back together.

I knew that Xenosaga had a lot of religious context, but I didn't realize that Jesus Christ is actually a canon character in the series.

I knew I had to at least discover xenosaga and Xenogears stories before Xenoblade 3 realized for being in the '' who knows '' category of players.

Honestly, all i really want from the next part of the xenoblade series is a full jump back into high sci-fi. Sprawling mega-cities, flying cars, big mechs, space, the works. Feels like we haven't had much in the way of that genre of jrpgs for a long time. Future Redeemed gives me hope that at least some of those things will come to fruition!

I've played and loved the Xenosaga series. I've gone back to watch multiple recaps and lore over the years, but this video was the first time that SO many things just finally clicked together and made sense. Thank you for making this!

I played Xenosaga 1-3 back in the day. After my friend lent me Xenosaga 1 and I finished it, I bought 2 & 3. I know I paid full price for Xenosaga 3, which was not my really in my budget at the time, but was worth the small sacrifices I made to make up for it. These games have a special place in my memory. YT channel Max Derrat does a great analysis of philosophical, religious and metaphysical aspects in this series that adds even more meaning and depth to the games that I missed upon playing them all those years ago. And I really enjoyed the gameplay at the time.

XenoGears, Sagas and the Blade Series are absolute gems when it comes to complex story arcs and lore.

Xenosaga III is still a great game especially KOS-MOS is my favorite character because she's iconic!

I have played some of XC1 and some of XC2 on 3ds/switch so I never realized how many biblical references were in the Xeno franchise

(Updated two months later) Hey guys. This comment used to be me saying that Xenosaga has to be cannon to Xenoblade, but In the time since I have posted this, my opinion has changed. I do believe that Xenoblade being connected to Xenosaga is possible, but not likely. I believe that Monolithsoft will be re using concepts and characters from its past game for its main Xenoblade timeline. The Xenoblade world probably has its own Vector industry's and its own Dmitri Yuriev, same goes for the E.C.P. and Project Exodus. I feel like Monolithsoft wouldn't make Xenoblade play a game older, has a bad second part, has a totally different play style, and has a much more complex story just for lore of Xenoblade. And that blue speck heading towards Earth? That's probably the Icuris colony ship that was mentioned in the radio. Though we still have no idea what was up with the ending of FR, this is definitely a likely possibility.

Wow, been a while since I delved into the lore of the Xeno series. All this video did was make me long for a remaster/revival, and wish the Xenoblade series wasn't a Nintendo exclusive. They are the only Nintendo exclusives I care about.

No matter how many analysis videos I watch I need to play these games to fully understand the time line

You know from looking into willhelms eternal reoccurrence, maybe perhaps this aspect could be something to considered with your two earths theory with the X vs saga. At first I wasn’t too sure that could work on the account of the solar system being the same but if the eternal reoccurrence consistently ensured that similar events kept playing out with earth disappearing at some point in each timeline. Perhaps this could be the thing that ties the numbered blade games, saga, X and maybe even gears together with each one having a version of earth from slightly differing loops and events but share similar fundamental traits like the coalition governments and project exodus ultimate goal being to get humanity off earth (even though the circumstances between the numbered xenoblade version differ from X). It could also explain why vector exists in blade and saga since willhelm would keep general events as similar as possible and you did mention the reoccurrence isn’t perfect so their could be one loop where klaus experiment caused earth to disappear and another caused by Verum but their still similar on the account of both causing space time anomalies (although with Klaus’s his experiment might have caused the numbered blades earth to escape an instance of the reoccurrence since it led to earth being split and isolated into some kind of pocket dimension)

Xenosaga 1 is an amazing game, cant understand why the changed the anime style and combat in episodes 2 and 3...

I am a diciple of Xenosaga and Xenoblade being connected. It makes sence "earth" is lost Jerusalem. Somehowe the higerupps of wector knew what Claus was about to doo. The Xenoblade games exist in a pocket dimention where lost Jerusalem used to bee. Explaining why nonone culd relocate lost Jerusalem in Xenosaga. After the events of Xenoblade 3 bouth worlds unite back to what was once earth also known as lost Jerusalem. But noone can argue against me that sylvalum has the apsolute BEST eria theme in the whole series

Thanks for the condensed explanations of such deep and fascinating lore. I didn't get everything concerning both domains while playing the games. I'm quite good at english but it is not my mother tongue + playing the japanese dub version of Ep III might not have helped. I really hope to see Kos-Mos canonicaly back (XC2 doesn't count plotwise ^^) in a future Xeno entry eventhough my brain starts metling as I try to tie things up with Blade.

I thought there were references to saga in the end of all Xenoblade games, when everyone lost their minds on xbc3 i was, well it's not like it's a new thing.

I gotta say I get why they didn't remaster Xenosaga. The assumption that it would not sell seems quite reasonable to me, cause the games are nothing like Xenoblade. They are slow games (literally. Everything moves slows: the battle, the animations, the menus,etc) and the plot is a mess where 6 out of 7 hours in (I'm talking about cutscene total length) you still don't know a ton of stuff related to the premise of the story. I remake would be great, but they'd have to change a lot of stuff for these games to work with more than just a few niche gamers.

I remember watching the trailer for Xenoasaga 3 on a demo disc I had on my ps2 like 10-15 years ago, and the tune is still stuck in my head until this day, but I can not for the life of me find the specific demo disc trailer. I ended up buying the game off the strength of that trailer alone. I unfortunately got a lot of my ps2 games misplaced but if anyone knows what I’m talking about PLEASE HELP 😂

If you want Namco to remaster the Xenosaga trilogy make sure to not show this to one of their executives and just go with "it's like Xenoblade"

People fail to consider that Xenosaga has just as many if not more plotholes than X does if you don't space out your timeline's events enough. Unless you're telling me Klaus was set up by Wilhelm to begin the experiment by Wilhelm igniting the Salvator Rebellion presumably because of something to do with the Conduit's association to the other artifacts of god, and that two Shions, Allens, Professors, and Kevins exist in the timeline to create two different KOS-MOS on each end of the timeline, I ain't buying it. It'd be awesome if true, since you could give Nikol, Glimmer, and Mythra's kid the role of journeying across Earth to rebuild a charred and fragmented KOS-MOS in Xenoblade Chronicles 4 in order to combat the flood of Gnosis that suddenly invades Earth the MOMENT they pop back into existence while the Gnosis are converting former Moebius longing for an endless now since passed, but it'd be impossible when you consider it contradicts the reason Wilhelm intervened to shrink Earth in the first place - a completely different set of events described in one of the side-games, as well as the aforementioned issue of KOS-MOS Refrain's entire existence in a fused timeline. It's just too much of a jump in logic to make. That's not to say that Xenogears, Xenosaga, Xenoblade X, and Klaus's realities can't coexist in the same universe - they just can't coexist in the same part of the lower domain due to extremely conflicting timelines. Likely what Monolithsoft was referring to when they said XC3's ending would point to the future of the series was the return of an open world format similar to what X had by showing a completely reformed Earth, nothing to do with the lore whatsoever.

And here i thought Japanese people don't do drugs 😂

If anything, I feel like I understand it even less now. :(

My recollection is that chaos is jesus and Shion is the reincarnation of mary magdeline. Kos-mos and t-elos are made from fragments of Mary hence why t-elos has dark skin as dhye is made from her flesh

These games never had characters, only CONCEPTS of characters, simple narrative tools that tried to explore (and not very well) the theories they are inspired by, which makes it difficult to connect with them or even understand their goals, values, emotions or conflicts, their personalities just.... DON'T MATTER, including Shion (although she's not very likable either). I really hate that they link Xenoblade to that thing... both sagas are diametrically opposed

I really don't think "Xenosaga" and "Xenoblade" are connected at all. All the "evidence" I've seen are just straws people are grabbing. I've been a Monolith fan since 2004, and I already went through this with "Xenosaga" and "Xenogears", and I know a flawed argument in this regard when I see it. But hey, if this makes people to start paying attention to the "Xenosaga" trilogy, ie, the poor middle child of the three Xeno franchises, and one of the most underappreciated series in video game history... I guess I'll call it a win.
