Every single time I’ve attempted to explain to someone what the NFA is and how one goes about purchasing a suppressor or an SBR, I get no more than a few sentences in before their eyes inevitably begin to glaze over, so I don’t even try anymore. Once a law is passed it is very difficult to get it repealed or overturned. This is why bad laws accumulate over time. One solution to this problem would be to require sunset dates on all laws. Each time a law expired it would either have to go through the whole process of being passed again in either its current form or a new form or it would lapse. This would keep legislators busy reviewing laws previously passed so that they would have less time to pass new bad laws.

Or better yet, make an actual goal for the law. Measure that goal later to see if it worked, if it didn't axe it. Once a law is proven, the law becomes more permanent.

The challenge is if an important law like one that prohibits murder slips through the cracks (a lot of legislatures are pretty lazy/derelict of their duty) and we have a Purge situation until it's enacted back into law. Might be cool to thin the herd a bit, but would cause some chaos. Would this be more of a problem long term over the accumulation of bad laws?

Excellent information, understandable by most but those but the close minded. I’m tired of the propaganda, silencers aren’t silent. A .22 cal can with subsonic Ammo may quite quiet, but has ballistics of an air gun. Question: if an unsuppressed standard .22 cal or .25 cal etc firearm is not illegal, why can’t other caliber firearms be reduced to something near the same decibel level?

As a high school kid, I found out that "silencers" were required on both car and motorcycle exhausts, no tax stamps required. While silencers will not suppress the sonic boom of bullets exceeding the speed of sound, they will tone down somewhat the muzzle blast of rifles and contribute to hearing protection along with earplugs and muff style hearing protectors.

Attorney General Cummings' original draft didn't even mention rifles, and the arbitrary barrel length proposed for shotguns was 16". Congressman Knutson introduced the subject of rifles under the guise of protecting hunters back home, but then suggested 18" would be a good minimum barrel length for both shotguns and rifles. They almost finalized the bill with 16" on the last day of hearings, but Knutson interjected and reminded them of the 18" length, which is one of the reasons why Federal Agents have murdered children, dogs, and women holding babies ever since.

Edward Griffin. Still, there is no uniform communist agenda, and no one is trying to steal his guns. There have been what, a dozen mass shootings since I last posted? None of those were with illegally purchased firearms. They clearly didn't have any trouble lawfully obtaining firearms. And the right-wing fervor that their precious guns are going to be taken away has only increased. The SBR and SBS were added because they were trying to restrict handguns. They knew people would just cut the barrel off a rifle or shotgun to avoid the handgun restriction. Once handguns were removed they couldn’t remove SBR/SBS because they already said how dangerous they were. So they were left on without showing how they were used in crime.

It's really funny that many people that are pro guns suffer massively from selective perspective. Most gun related crimes only take place because the weapon is already there and easy to get in the first place. Another fun fact: *Most criminals obey most of the laws* , they only brake a few of them. And most fun fact: Strict gun laws actually lead to an extreme downrise in gun violence, it has been proven in dozens of countries all around the world.

Having been a firearms Instructor for over 35 years as well as a (now retired) professional public school teacher of Social Studies in the Miami Dade Public Schools for 30 years I was able to give much of this information to thousands of students over that time period much to the fury of principals and the school board who threw their liberal weight at me for the entire time I was teaching. It might interest you to know that at the district court level, US versus Miller was decided in favor of the plaintiff.. The judge decided that the NFA was actually unconstitutional.. Unfortunately the defendant was indigent, the attorney in the case was pro Bono and therefore didn't follow the case to the Supreme Court where where BATF and DOJ lied about the specifics of what constituted military weapons at the time which included Short barreled shotguns. They had in fact been used in trench warfare in World War I. I would like to see more of these cases springboard from the reasoning that decided US versus Miller, i.e. that any weaponry used commonly by the military is what the 2nd amendment covers and therefore should be available to the average citizen

@@pacifactor thats what i find so frustrating about the libtards. they cant imagine that there are ppl in power who want to make us all into slaves. they act like that could never happen. but little by little the 2nd Amendment is eaten away piece by piece and has been since the day it was written.

They aren't as stupid and confused as they pretend to be, they know exactly what they are doing and get us to make their own argument for them with reverse psycology, how many times have you heard a pro 2a person say that most crime is committed with pistols in response to the "ban assault rifle" argument? ?

This was a longer video than I expected, but it was well worth the watch. Very informative. I also loved all the Kevin Costner clips, too.

Great informative video, even if I'm in the UK where we have some of the most restrictive firearms legislation in the world. We even have to have a Firearms Certificate for air rifles above 12 foot pounds muzzle energy (6 for air pistols).

You could present all the facts and evidence you want and demonstrate the actual workings right in front of them but the people who have fully committed themselves to the media and political propaganda will refuse to acknowledge anything that doesn't reinforce the narrative they've been le to believe.

If you've ever waited on the paperwork for a suppressor so long that you made a 30+ minute video questioning why suppressors are regulated in the first place... go ahead and hit that subscribe button. If it took you over a month to make the video and the paperwork still didn't come back... go ahead and run for fucking office and change the damn law! By the time you get your campaign going, win the election in a landslide, write a bill to deregulate, debate the bill, and pass the bill... you might have gotten the suppressor paperwork back.
