Been trying to get my mits on one of these rifles for about a year. Had email alerts on Impact Guns and Gallery of Guns. Each time some stock would come up it would be gone before I could order. Finally, about ten days ago my luck changed. This is a light handy rifle that shoots the plentiful and cheap AK round.

The Carbine is an intermediate range 'brush gun.' This handy rifle features open sights, a straight comb walnut stock and weighs less than 6 pounds! It's the only model in the CZ family of bolt action rifles that is chambered for the popular 7.62x39. This cartridge is a top pick for younger shooters for its low recoil and effectiveness on medium sized game such as deer or wild boar out to 200 yards. Both cartridges offered in the 527 Carbine model are economical to shoot given their service rifle heritage.
Built to CIP specifications, our 7.62x39 chambers are ideal for shooting steel-cased surplus ammo. Designed to shoot .311 bullets, some American brass ammo may not perform as well as the imported steel-cased variety because of SAAMI brass dimensions and varying bullet diameters.

I've had mine for 10 yrs. When I picked it up after the wait period. The seller and myself nearly fainted. The most beautiful 'tiger stripes' either of us have ever seen. The whole store had to come and look at it. The seller kiddingly said, had he known about the stock, before my 10 day wait, he would have switched-out the stock with his own. --- The bad ... It's been a "cabinet queen. I have to get over this and start using it more.

I am a FFL, I did a transfer for a guy 8 months ago on this gun, I really liked the fit and feel of the rifle, and once he told me it would shoot the cheap steel case ammo, had to have it....Well 8 months later I finally got my hands on it, after being on wish lists with everyone I do business with. Shot it yesterday, it's a keeper....

I agree 100% and I'm not being snarky either. The close-ups were beautiful, use of hands to carefully point features out was far better for me than talking, and the occasional subtitles rounded it out. A picture is worth a thousand words and a great picture is worth more than that. It doesn't need unnecessary talking and it absolutely doesn't need music. I've watched a lot of videos trying to get a sense of how this really looks. Thanks to this, I don't need to watch any others.

The 527 CZ is a great rifle and really affordable to shoot at the range. I can shoot my 7.62x39 all day long and shoot three inch groups at 200 yards. I like the low recoil and mini mauser action makes operating this rifle easy. I wish I could find a longer 24 barrel for this gun just to see how far your can push the 7.62x39 round.

The 7.62X39mm was designed to kill SOLDIERS from the AK_47 and that it does . A careful hunter using 125 gr. soft points has a rough match to the 30/30 winchester without the momentum of a 170gr. bullet.The 7.62X39mm is a fun plinker with "el-cheapo" surplus ammo. Its a nice rifle to admire for its mini Mauser action and nice machine work.

Ray Hansen I’m going to get one as a close-range deer and hog rifle. Under 100 yards, in swamp settings most places you can’t see more than 50 yards. Great light and handy rifle, will use a low power scope (1.5-4X) Perfect.

Great little carry carbine! Made to shoot steel case ammo. Tried handloading to enhance accuracy: don’t waste your time. Bullets splatter steel in a grey puff at 250yds. This one is a performer & outperforms what one would think may not be such! They are worth what you pay for them!!

Blane Ross Thanks Blane...ya i hate the bolt removal in a mini 30 its awkward...and mine has an issue with the trigger guard coming un attached and then action is loose....even when i tried bending the guard back....cz is a little beauty sir....super light...handy as heck....love the sound of the 39 round....nice deep and throaty..cheers dude

I have a CZ-527 and a Ruger Mini-30, the Ruger Mini-30 is a piece of crap but I absolutely love the CZ. Especially the way you can set the trigger, it makes it extremely accurate.

My father has it here in the Czech Republic. He takes this rifle mostly, when he goes for a walk in to the forest. He can hunt pretty anything with it and its quite accurate. Last time he shot a wild board 100kg within 200m distance with no problems at all.

Congrats on the purchase! I love my CZ-527M. All my rifles are either 7.62x39mm or .22lr. I thought I was getting into economical cartridges, but you damn near can't find .22lr, and now it looks like we're having a run on x39! Hopefully our x39 doesn't quadruple in price. You'll love the CZ! Its very accurate with steel cased ammo, light, handy, and has iron sights, which is a must for me. Honestly the only draw back for me is the cost of magazines.

How do you like the Mini-30? My house runs Vz. 58's & SKS's. And of course I'm always looking to feed the beast that is my firearms collection, but I try to stick to 7.62x39 & .22lr for the economy of it.

PlanetRigo I like the mini 30...i have it with a butler creek stock...looks real badass...had some issues with cycling early on but with a few tweaks its running mint now..will do a video when it warms up a bit..i have a M&P 15-22 that I love shooting 22lr with..great ar style gun in 22..I also own an sks..norinko spiker...looking to get a VZ in the future...like that rifle a lot...cheers

Why do so many people keep saying 22lr is hard to find? It must be a geography problem. I just bought a box of 2500 CCI mini mags and a pail of 1600 Remington gold tip 36gr. hp.

I have a 527. One of the fractures I like is that with the bold closed and the safety on, you can not open the bolt. This model also has a set trigger (push the trigger slightly forward) that is like a hair trigger, micro touch and it fires. Barrel cold or hot, accuracy is remarkable for such a short barrel length.

Accuracy is pretty good...i was hitting soda cans at 100 yards with the iron sites...nice sound when it fires...soft recoil even though the barrel is short and the rifle is light.

An excellent wee Rifle, also comes in 223 Rem. I got that one, plentifull cases and cheap to reload, Barrel comes with 1 in 12 twist though need to stick to 55Gr Bullets or less. Tried 62Gr NATO and they would not stabilise though. Also has a set trigger, just cock and push trigger forward for a very light pull. I'm in the UK got it mainly for Plinking, great fun Rifle and well made, kind of twins with my BRNO 308 Win which I picked up cheap, had the barrel cut to 16 inches and fitted a muzzle brake again a fun plinker.

You can definitely tell the Czechs built that rifle. They take pride in the quality and workmanship of their machining work. You won't find many.....perhaps none.....tooling marks or milling swirls inside the receiver. And look at the bluing job they did, how nice and dark and even it is. That rifle is a bargain even at $700. A good handy size that you can shoot for hours on a working man's budget. A box of 123gr Silver Bear can be readily bought for $5. The 527 eats Russian surplus like candy.

This action reminds me of a 1963 Brno in 22 Hornet I had. It was on a ZKW-465 action that was a tiny Mauser action. It was a beautifully made rifle . All the best.

I ve looked most all the posts featuring this rifle. There are a lot of gripes. Just look at the split stocks by the reciever tang. Loose front sight, rough functioning bolts, overpriced 5 shot mags.The one thing they do and do well is shoot extremely accurate... when theyre working. Im going to get me a remington 700. Had one in 308 for 40 years and the stock never split, nor did the front sight come loose. Action smooth as butter. Regret selling it. I was a dumb head.

I wouldn´t call it small. I would call it "just right" as a carbine, and that is what it is supposed to be. Lightweight, handy, everything you need and even a bit more (trigger) for a EDC or working rifle. I love the simplicity.

Looks like my Hatsan Escort CZ clone..... kind of like one of the old safari rifles which i have always liked them. and why i bought the Escort. Its a great shooter and tac driver. I would love one of these rifles and will be looking into getting one! I dont care how long they have been out now! awesome looking little rifle! would be a great bush gun or even a camp rifle!

Nice rifle but way too small for me. I opted for a Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. The Ruger takes up to a 20 round mag and when put into a Boyd’s stock, makes a very nice package. I would probably give the CZ another look if they made it a little bigger and offered a 10 round mag.

I bought mine later, 2019 or so. Excellent arm, excellent work putting it together. (By CZ.) Shoots the standard steel cased 7.62x39mm round and Tula arsenal makes 7.62x39mm ammo with SP 154 grin bullet in the proper bore diameter. Greater utility on game than lighter bullets. Five round magazine? Like I'm going to be fighting a war with this?

I would have bought one years ago if they were available. I cut an Arisaka down and use Ruger mini thirty magazines in it. I have dropped quite a few deer with it over the years. A compact rifle is perfect for rough areas where you have a hard time moving around.

the 527 is a pretty light rifle. It has of course no hard kick, but there is a big difference to a AK (since it's about 2lb heavier and the semi auto action soaks up some of the recoil) right?

Hi Moscow and Muscovites...I use a red dot scope and shoot only maybe maximum 100 meters....we hunt in lots of woods here so hunting happens close to the animal...usually under 50 meters....gun is maybe 2moa for me but i am not a good shot.....Spasibo

David Montgomery One thing I learned the difficult way is that it's a controlled feed action, not push feed like most bolt action rifles I have used. You need to feed it with the magazine and not drop one round in the chamber at a time. I was wondering why it was binding up on me until I figured that out. If you were already aware of this, then please excuse my advice. Cheers, and enjoy that rifle!

Hi Chris..i have both the mini 30 and this gun...for hunting this gun is super handy...lighter...shorter....the mini i like but its not as much for hunting...not as good accuracy for sure..if i was going to decide between the both?..mmm i would say cz..just cuz its so handy

The Slavia is an extremely accurate .177 caliber 600 fps air gun that's very popular in Europe-not so much in the US. Still, a very nice springer air rifle-John in Texas

@@mainemonty Their air rifles can be hard to find in the US, but well worth the effort. I paid around $100.00 for my Slavia 631 about 15 years ago. It shoots accurately out to 75 feet at least, which is pretty good for a sub 700 fps springer-John in Texas

Отличная машинка для охоты! Правда вот выбирать их нужно с кучностью 1 минута в паспорте, а то после дистанции в 200метров этот аппарат начинает исполнять танцы))) кучность теряет сильно. Но до 200 метров работает отлично, даже с открытого прицела)

I've looking for cz 550 lux in 243calibre and can't find it anywhere in cz catalog they say it's available but guess i have to be patients,i could just buy a savage or remington but after looking at your rifle it much better
