This was one of the very first things I ever heard being played on the piano by the brilliant Bulgarian pianist Alexis Weissenberg. The mastery of touch, simplicity and beautiful expression he possessed, created a hypnotic atmosphere that had me hooked! I am happy that after many years I had the occasion to learn and perform this musical gem in public.
