More important is what are they getting signed from us through their Terms and conditions while buying? I read all the t&c of UV super bike. They are written in such a way that the buyer is a criminal by default. Plus they have full right over all the private and open data that their app and bike computer produces about us. They legally get it signed mandatory from us. What does ATHER extracts from us? Do we have a setting or option to deny giving them the data? This terms and conditions matter should also be an important concern checked by the EV reviewers openly here after.

The driving data is very helpful for companies to improve their products. It's good for us as a customer. Also how we drive, where we drive, how many times we charge our riding style. All this data isn't sensitive and no one would have a problem sharing it with the manufacturer. At least I don't care. And why would i?

Under any circumstances, you would directly blame the company for manufacturing defects, leading to defamation. This happened with Ola when they initially launched their vehicles, resulting in terrible marketing. Brands invest heavily in safety for both their products and customers. It’s good they are collecting data to understand the cause of any issues. This data collection doesn’t infringe on your privacy-they aren’t taking photos from your phone or any sensitive data. So, understand that it’s not always about privacy concerns.
