A Deeper look at the sounds and features of the new Evh Iconic 15. Clean/Crunch/lead and play along with the emulated output. Soaking good tones, clean and dirty from such a well thought out and compact combo.

Nice job as usual Damon…yes, it’s a Class A design. The auto noise gate is only on the Red channel, similar to the bigger amps. Fun and Games ✌️

Did you design the other Fender /5150 or just this one? For what it’s worth I reckon this one sounds better 👍

@@Matthew_Scan I just started working at EVH in 2019, and designed the Iconic amps. I also designed the original Peavey 5150, 5150 combo and 5150 II. Glad you like the new ones ✌️

@@michelewade5415 sorry, it shuts off the input to the power amp when you plug into the headphone out jack. I guess it could be modified fairly easily with an additional switch that disables that, or you could use an outboard IR pedal from the Effects Send

@@jamesbrown7468 thanks. I guess I’ll just hear the guitar back through the stage monitor as well. I’ll give that a try. Just miss the sound of the 5150. I had two full stacks and the 60 watt combo back in the day. Again, thanks

Great video! You are the only one who showed the versatility of the 5150 Iconic amp. It makes the Anderton's review look quite short-sighted when Captain said, "obviously, this amp is not for those who want jazz tones." On the contrary, you have demonstrated that it can do jazz and blues amazingly well.

I totally agree. It’s been difficult finding any demos of this amp that aren’t played in drop C with 1000% distortion.

Hi Damon, sorry I’m late to the party. When you use the emulated out does it defeat the sound coming from the speaker? I want to be able to hear the amp on stage while sending the sound to the PA Thanks

Can you please please play this through some other speakers. Ola did a super short clip of the 40 watt version through a greenback and it was so much better. Do you have a 10 inch green ack you canrun this through? If not any ca. With different speakers so we can see how it reacts.

Can the 15w footswitch and the 40w be inter-change able? I want to add the boost to channel one via foot switch?

I really don't know. I have both here so I'll give it a go. I think the connectors may be different, I ll look.

I found that the high gain chnnel is very mushy and oversaturated. Low gain channel is sweet. Anyway I returned it as it didnt meet my expectations at that price.
