My favorite shot in this movie is at the very end when Seth is going down the escalator and his view of his best friend Evan at the top of the escalator is slowly being blocked. Knowing they will be off to college soon and their friendship will probably never be the same...it's actually really touching...

I just have to comment here because that last scene gets me every time. I lost my best friend & soul-mate of the same age at 18 yro in 1990 to suicide after his father died. We, of coure, were mallrats. I never thought I'd ever have anyone as close in my life again. But then I was hired by a band in '93 & realized on the road I'd met & been blessed to get another chance in the drummer who looked like "Seth" if you gave him a mohawk & some lamb-chop sideburns & stood him about 5 yards away!😅 We continued to make all our dreams come true for the next two years, the whole time I knew it & never took a moment for granted! Then he was killed in a car wreck right before we had a scheduled meeting with a record company. It wrecked me for years, but I'm blessed in many other ways now. When I see this & the scene where they're telling each other they love each other it reminds me of me & him & brings a tear to my eye. Then when they say goodbye & go their separate ways in the mall I'm a mess for a minute, but then I feel the Love! It's such a good movie I watch it over & over, & it gets me at the end every time. I'm sure you have your own reasons & fond memories, friend, it just surprised me to see you appreciate it like I do! Whoever reads this, no matter how bad things may seem or be, never forget THEEESE ARE THE DAYS, MOFOS!!! Love & Party accordingly!🙏 🤘🌎❤

This is true! Once my long life childhood friend got married in 2012 our friendship kind of faded away! I haven’t spoken to him in years & I was actually in his wedding! The sad part is we literally hung out all of the time but now haven’t heard from him since like 2015! I wish I could go back! 😞😞

@@SmallvilleFann1983 John Mulaney has a joke about hanging out once you hit your 30s and older. Before you saw your friends all the time, often every single day, surrounded by your friends, you do everything together. Then one day you move on, and they move on too, and you try to make plans. But making plans is harder as you get older, you ask them, can you do lunch next Wednesday, no no, next Wednesday is no good for them. What about dinner the Monday after that? No, that doesn't work either? Ok, well, let's agree to not speak for 11 years.

I saw this movie at a prescreen where Bill Hader, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Michael Cera, and Jonah Hill came and answered audience questions afterwards. As they were leaving Christopher passed a few feet from me and I looked at him and said "you're gonna get so much ass now" he turned and replied "god I hope so".

I simply cannot believe this movie is almost 16 years old. I saw this in theaters in high school and I’ve never been to a movie since where the entire room was filled with near constant, uproarious laughter. My stomach hurt from laughing so hard and I remember leaving feeling that same kind of sadness that Seth expresses in the final scene. It’s been years since I’ve seen or spoken to any of those dear friends I had. Life has changed so much. I will always treasure those days.

The crazy journey that the main characters take in this film is meant to demonstrate one thing: the lengths a teenage guy will go to get laid. It’s a hard thing for the opposite sex to truly understand, but this movie helps lol.

That's what we always did... wait for someone who looked cool enough and ask them to buy it for us. Never failed. Also it had some deep moments. See best buds, but then the designated girlfriends come along... It would have been cool if they had done a movie from those two girls' perspective, but this was a movie based on the childhood of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. This is ultimately a film about the end of childhood.

Unfortunately, the legal drinking age in the USA is 21. It used to be 18. It changed the year that I turned 18. That's my luck. 😂 Also, Superbad was closely based on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's senior year in the late '90s, and at one time during the film's 12-year development, Rogen even considered playing Jonah Hill's role.😊

Jonah Hill getting backed into by the car is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The epitome of what a highschool movie should be! But here in the states you have to be 21 to buy alcohol and tobacco, and it’s usually not worth taking the risk of asking someone. But this is also coming from someone that had friends who would just run into the supermarkets and run back out with a 30 case of beer in each hand lol

It used to be 18 in most states. The law used to be dependent on which state you were located in. Back in the 1960s and 1970s there was a rise in alcohol related fatalities caused by drunk driving mainly teens. So in the mid-80s they made the drinking age be 21 at a federal level so states couldn't have any say om that issue anymore.
