More like he was only under Sephiroth’s control because the Black Materia wasn’t in his hands. Once Sephiroth got it, he loosened his control over Cloud

Feels way better than in OG, he beat the shit out of her and Red litterally had to intervene to get him off her. Wouldn't have worked with this level of advanced CGI, it would be way to disturbing.

Bro cloud is my favorite so I’ve loved this game and hearing cloud laugh and call aeriths name crazily but lovingly at the same time gave me chills he’s never done that we got to explore so many sides of cloud to get closer to the real him

Cody really did an amazing job for Cloud, in CC you can hear Cloud "real voice" when he was still a normal guy, he had a very soft tone, which you can also hear for a bit crackling when he's talking with Tifa in Gongaga And then you have the complete opposite tone here, going full psycho

The music drowned out Cloud's voice a lot when I was playing, so I never noticed how his voice cracks at 14:20. Cody did a fantastic job

11:30 Crazy to see how they show Cloud uncharacteristically stumbling and staggering about as he makes his way to Sephiroth. It just shows how possessed and controlled he really is at this moment. Love the attention to detail in this game!

Fun fact: during the fight before going to the black materia alter, Cloud actually does his creepy insane laugh when doing action commands. Think he also says “It’s homecoming” as well

I mean at that point sephiroth wasn’t even trying to manipulate him. He had already gotten the materia, he didn’t need to control cloud anymore.

@@jamelgallagher6602 He was still being controlled, he still had that ‘possessed/controlled’ face when he’s looking at her or else he would’ve definitely ran towards her as soon as he saw her, you can even see his pupils dilate (love this little detail btw) when he remembers his encounter with Aerith and THEN he runs after her

@@eclipsemoonlightship I get he was still under Sephiroth control but at that point Sephiroth already gotten the black materia from him so there was no reason to keep manipulating him. Cloud was only able to break free because Sephiroth wasn’t actively trying to control him.

Yeah I now wanted an R rated version of ff7 remake, tho maybe it wouldn't sky rocket the sales for limited audiences.. but just imagine the brutality of the game sephiroth would be even more scarier rather than just harassing cloud.
