I made this video to show the growth in JoJo's voice over time. She's has improved a lot with hitting this note. The note is actually an F#5 in the studio, but live she hits F5's.

the 2006 and 2007s were just.. yikes. But i literally jumped hearing the one at 2:34. this is what improvement looks like, she clearly worked on some things, maybe had some training and so many stars could benefit from this. many singers who are called talentless, could actually be something if they paid more attention. this song was my life though year ago I'd always hear it, so i'm glad to see she's gotten pretty bomb at this song

Tbh her Ellen one sounded like 3 cats being dragged up a motor way which was a Simon Cowell reference but honestly it wasn't great

Most of them were pitchy in 2006, but they were all strained. After 2011 they strat being more open.

She's hitting the F5 right now like it's nothing. haha you should do another edition of this video, the improvement is real!!! And btw, from what I've been seeing on snapchat, she might me able to hit the Eb6 again soon as she's training her whistle register daily.

Funny reading this comment three years later and this girl can still hit the F5 and better than she had ever done it. She’s a lot more comfortable with her higher belts these days and making music! So proud of this woman and who she’s become!

The original note in the studio is F#5 but I've never heard her sing it in the original key. And you could tell that she was getting better at hitting the note. The first one and the last one is executed way differently

Usually her F5s in this song where pitchy, unstable and shrill. But at the near end she did good on some F5s.

the worst one: 1:56 which was flat the best ones: 0:50(her best one among her younger days) and 4:00

I agree. That's why I put it last haha. I believe that over time she will get even better at hitting this note. I hope she uses more of her headvoice on her new album.

Yes 😩 unfortunately the mad love tour gave her a bit of vocal damage cause she overused her voice so much but she’s been improving more recently

Me too!! Not that she didn't sound good the first time, but since her vocal training her belts have become a lot stronger and more resonance. If she covered the song again, it would be better because her voice would sound clearer and healthier, but I did love the raspiness to her tone. It gave it a more raw feel.

Jojo is literally one of the best vocalists of our generation like..... truly that is not an exagerration but those first note attempts live were just... omg they were just awful!!!! like i'm sure Jojo would even agree so i don't feel bad saying that haha

@@mariahstripped yeah she sang it in the original key for the vocalizeu concert THAT THEY DELETED i'm hella mad about that. there's no other footage of it. but she didn't do the F#5 in that performance.
